Hardly a scapegoat. Pretty sure everyone praises his ability however limited.

People are just stating the obvious that we need better. In Barkley we already have better, and he is our future, albeit maybe having a little dip at the moment.

What an earth Martinez see's when he shoehorns him there to put rom on the wing I don't know.

He trusts him to know when to get forward and when to stay back plus have the work ethic to actually do it. It's just a shame that when he gets to the right positions his talent lets him down.

True this, a lot of modern footballers have the aggression of a bag of wind, we need a player like Naismith in the side, every decent premiership side has had one.

We have McCarthy and Besic.

We need quality in the attacking positions. You don't see Sterling, Ibe or Couthinho running around getting stuck in.

This is it, very simple.

He's absolutely dog dirt, picked because he isn't bad at 'hustling' and because he puts in 110% effort.

I'd put in 110% effort, but doesn't mean I would be any good.

He had a three game purple patch and everybody ignored him being completely and utterly crap last season, and lo and behold he's found his level once again in recent months.

A lot of our players will be scapegoats this season as we have been utter crap overall. Naismith will be no different. A good player but nowhere good enough to take us into the top 4. A great squad player thought who gives 100% and cannot fault him for that. Players the likes of Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Silva, Erickson play in similar role and are a step up from the likes of Naismith. I was slagged recently for expressing this well founded opinion but players like Hazard will get you into the top 4. Players like Naismith/Osman maybe 6/7/8th. People raved about Osman for a couple of years. Did he get 1 /2 England caps. Did any decent team ever try to take him off us over his long career with us. No. Why? not good enough for a top 4 team. Same goes for Naismith. Cannot question their commitment though and they should always get respect for that alone.
