TTIP

The Conservatives and UKIP would if they had their own trade deal would do a bodge job. Labour and others not much better

European laws protect health and the environment far more than those two parties would have.

European trade laws are one set throughout all 29 member states + EEA states.

The UK has provided views already.

TTIP has still got 2 years of negotiations to go!

Anyone thinking it will impact EU safety laws is delusional.

They're looking to harmonise.

USA will end up adopting our law or equivalent. In some cases for safety. EU laws are better.

They know this. It'll cut costs when we agree harmonisation through TTIP

Work to common safety standards

Mate, I'm usually a big supporter of your various stances on many subjects on this site.

But on this occasion you are so far off the reality of the situation.

Read the article I posted. From one of the TTIP EU negotiators.

when negotiations were going on with other countries there was less hysteria. Far less.

Legaleese is all about word play and semantics.

You're completely out of the process. Out of your depth.

The EU has already said it won't water down existing safety or environmental legislation. What they're looking for is harmonisation. A process for it.

Competition is less of an issue as existing national and EU trade law already applies to the likes of the NHS. Allowing member states to be directly involved in healthcare provision.

Ttip opponents are hysterically arguing against something that will not happen anyway. ie complete adoption of a US healthcare model

Erm, ok. You win. Cba.

Yeah, you're right. It's not as if the Trans-Pacific Partnership is causing much outrage.

Thats a US-Asia trade deal. Nothing to do with the us.

Like I said. People are acting like the EU negotiators are incompetent. They're not.

They're going to force the US to adopt our safety standards (via equivalent laws). That will benefit the US. Increase trade and reduce duplication.

Like I said. Stop listening to the lobbyists and think for yourselves.
