I think the tactics of suffocating their attack are spot on. Sitting back and defending as a solid unit is exactly how to beat Liverpool.

Definitely wouldn't be playing Barkley in that system though, he gets isolated and easily marked out the game. Naismith won't let us down, type of player that comes up with a goal in this game.
Seems academic now anyway with the news on McCarthy, but with 3 MFs behind him I think Barkley could play with more freedom knowing if he loses the ball the RS won't be straight on to our back 4.

boss video. hadn't seen that before. 4 things stood out for me in that vid. 1)Kev+Rom were involved in almost all the goals which leads to the fact 2)Seamus came through with some big goals last season that we're missing 3) We miss a direct winger like Del was in the 2nd half of the season 4) Barkley was in way better form last season

Just seen the advert on sky. What a bunch of Juan Ca-drado's they are. (Deadline day my wife was listening and thought Chelsea signed somebody called JuanCa-drado. Still laughing at her).
Anyway, biased scumbags.
Ffs Everton, not bothered about anything else,, just don't lose.

Liverpool players are generally a cheating, diving, whining collection of thugs and moaners. Their fans are a mixture of tourists and knobs.
Can't wait to grind them into the Goodison turf.
That's me trying to be impartial.

Simply the most polite and accurate description of RS fans that I've ever read. Come on Blues...let's do this shower of goobers on Saturday.

I will be shocked if Lennon starts.

It's the Derby...he's only trained with the lads a few times. I'd call it a bad move to start him frankly. McGeady should be starting...but Lennon as an impact sub I'm OK with.

If he starts and looks dross in the Derby because he barely knows the rest of the lads, he might as well 'koff the rest of his loan. You lot would ride him until the ends of the Earth if that happened.

Watching that does give a reminder how much we miss a fit and on form Osman and Pienaar. We lack that creative edge that they bring when they're on form and we miss them.

Problem is that they're now too long in the tooth even if they do ever get themselves fit, and nowhere near as effective as they used to be.

That is an area we must address in the summer, a creative player or two to replace the two mentioned.

On the derby itself, isn't it about bloody time we won one!!!?

Tbf Lennon has been training week in week out he's played 17 times throughout the season he can certainly start if RM chooses so. I'd throw him in without a question. Give liverpool something to worry about.

I'd start barkley too. And kev on the other side. Liverpool will not be able to handle that!!

Or we can go same as same as, boring and predictable and go with average players like McGeady and naismith and watch the same predictable outcome. May as well have moyes in charge!

Barkley's stunk the place out in that position all year. What's that about insanity being when you do the same thing over and over again expecting different results...

I'm not sure why you think Liverpool will struggle to cope either. Pretty much every other team in the league has with the exception of QPR lately.
