Aaron Lennon ( On Loan January 2015 )

How much would you pay for Lennon in the Summer

  • Up to the rumoured 6 or 7 million - worth every penny

  • No more than 5 million - he's OK, but not worth any more

  • No more than 3 million - he's got no end product ffs

  • Wouldn't take him on a free, he's badly gash

  • Stop asking me questions and stick the grill on

The lad looks like his head's about to be lashed off by ISIS.

It's a hard life.

I'm ready to bin him off already.

He looks exactly like when Anichebe signed for West Brom and he looked like he was about to burst into tears at any moment.

on loan offers us something different and if it dosnt work out he goes back in a few months, pretty much a no brainier really, cant see why people are so negative, if he was an 27 year old Spanish international everybody would be going mad for him , his main fault to me seems to be the number of times he actually beats a player for a player with his pace, on his end product his pass completion rate is 85% this year which is more than decent

Still, even if his end product isn't that good you cannot underestimate the importance of having genuine pace in the team. Let's not make out he's rubbish because he isn't! Him on the field will mean opposition will always have him in mind when sending players up for corners and free kicks, etc, when at the moment they know we can't break with pace so probably throw a man or two extra upfield. Him being on the field will mean opposition full backs and wingers will likely drop deeper to try and deal with his pace, and it'll open up extra space for Lukaku, Mirallas and Barkley to exploit. Additionally it'll open up a more direct style of play if necessary by keeping up more up field and lashing the ball into space... 9 times out of 10 he'll be the first to the ball and that's a massive plus too. The question had to be for any potential new signing: Is he better than McGeady? The answer is a resounding YES! So that's good enough for me and ought to be good enough for you too.

Mostly agree apart from the pass completion thing. In my book that just means he passes it backwards and square a lot.

Another thing is that because (other than Mirallas) our wide players are now pretty much useless and others playing out of position there haven't performed people will overrate Lennon...

I don't mind having a 'tricky winger' and also a 'fast direct winger' when it's Limpar and Kanchelskis quality, not the McGeady, Lennon combo.

I agree with you. The problem is we don't have the money to buy (particularly) Kanchelskis level of player. He was the right winger for the league champions and double winners when we signed him. He went for 6 million when the transfer record was 15. The transfer record is now 80 and we don't have 35 million pounds to go and buy a Kanchelskis level player.

Lennon is a pragmatic signing. He may be awful in which case we won't sign him. He may fit into our system and produce the form that how showed at times for Spurs, in which case he will at the very least help us this season.

Now we have so many Wingers i wouldnt mind seeing Pienaer go into the Number 10 role, thats if he ever gets fit again

Yeah, could be an option, he as got decent feet and good link up play, seems to pick a nice pass when out wide and linking up with Baines so I'm sure he could do the same playing off the striker.
