.....not sure what is going on but living in the NW and playing for us might not have appealed. I don't know, but suspect he and his agents are in the mercenary stage of his career, grabbing as much as they can whilst he can still put his boots on.

Burnley away was great but signing that type can always be a bit fickle, tremendous ego at play if he's in a struggling side.

Eto'o playing for Everton, was that real life?

All the best Sammy, wish you could have been better. Still, can always say I saw him play in a blue shirt though!

What time (or day) do you reckon the OFFICIAL EVERTON WEBSITE or the OFFICIAL EVERTON TWITTER account will actually report that he's left the club?

I'm going for 7pm. On Tuesday.

....understand the sentiment but we will be a top side when we bring in players of this quality when they are at or around their best. This is a bit gimmicky for me, we've had Eto'o, we've had Gazza, we've had Ginola. It's more important who is going to play for us regularly going forward.

A great signing in theory; not so fabulous in reality.

Contributed a few goals for the club and some inspiring performances, but overall not worthy of the £100k per week we've spent on him.

Maybe that's due to the fact he was rarely played in the right position. On the other hand, his age may have simply been shown.

I wouldn't call it a debacle, however it's certainly not our finest hour. Although that very same statement, may also adequately sum up our season.

Agree with that although not sure I'd put Eto'o in the same bracket as Ginola and Gazza. They were well and truly past it when we had them. At least Eto'o has contributed something at least during his time here.

Probably a good description of the whole thing.

knowing them, last min of transfer window, saying he was not in squad for palace game for whatever reasonlol

Furthermore, maybe we will now actually see if some of the rumours regarding Eto'o being a disruptive influence were true.

This bonding time in Qatar is vital, as I sincerely believe that Palace will be an extremely difficult challenge.
