Persisting with playing him on the wing has unfortunately put paid to that for many of us.
It's all about opinions, for me you need to see the bigger picture. Surely it's about more than playing an ageing free transfer on the wing.

I admire your confidence in him mate but I think its misguided,Hope you are right like
You must have seen enough footy in your life to know every team has good & bad spells. Cmon, its not that misguided.

Wasted whilst here which was a shame. RM does nothing but moan about Lakaku's early season fitness etc...Etoo could of had a good run early season, but NO brainbox roberto decided he could turn him into a winger at 33.

*Sigh*

I agree mate teams have good and bad spells but 1 one win in 13 is more than a blip ,I have watched Everton for over 50 years and dont remember 2 many runs as bad as this one The last run that was worse was under Mike Walker 1 in 16 when he was sacked and that season we still ended up winning the Cup.
We need a win in the next 3 to ease the pressure if not then its Leicester at home which could be his farewell game.I want him to pull it round but dont kid yourself it is a serious situation and definetely the clock is ticking for Roberto.

Football Italia quotes by Eto'o:

Samuel Eto’o is quoted as telling Italian papers he wants to get Sampdoria “into the Champions League.”
The striker is expected to fly in today for his medical and be presented to the fans ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Serie A match with Palermo.
“I can’t really talk before signing the contract,” the Everton man told Secolo XIX newspaper.
“I do want to say I am in great shape, I want to win and above all achieve the objective the President and this city deserve: to get into the Champions League.
“I am feeling great, ready to play and obviously I want to score in order to help Samp achieve their objectives.
“I was very happy in Italy in the past and couldn’t wait to get back there. I chose Samp for their project, for Mihajlovic and for President Ferrero. I didn’t know the President before, but his enthusiasm was contagious.
“I just want to get started. I’ll see all the Sampdoria fans soon.”

Hasn't even left us yet and already talking up his new club.

Classless.

Brainbox Mourinho played him as a winger when he won the treble.

Mourinho also had a £200m team and a wealth of talent in other areas of the team

We had a well publicised unfit striker, a long term injury absentee and eto'o, the latter not being picked up front.

Anyway, good luck Sam you were always smiling and it was great to see your name in our squad
