I remember speaking to some Wigan fans when Martinez came to us, their gripe was that he is stubborn and wants to play continental football, one of the Wigan fans said that he thought he was almost experimental with his style, even at the risk of the club being relegated, we all know how that ended up! I am really worried this time, the players have no heart, confidence, of I believe faith in the manager. I would think best plan would be part ways sooner rather than later, last thing we want is to can him after a derby defeat and give those bast+++s the satisfaction! See how next game goes then make the change

There are some on here still living in last season.
But never is a good option I can see the deluded voting never

Viewed from this vantage point, last season was very good but the reality is everything went a bit flat in the end and we actually threw away the best chance we have had to finish top four since 2005 and are likely to have for the foreseeable future.

We had Arsenal on their knees the night Palace rolled into town.

Win that game and it is the clear blue skies of the CL above us.

Instead we got the bizarre line up with Gerald, Aiden and Mirallas all starting the same game.

And it has been downhill ever since :(

Necessarily so. In summary of what was said, there has been a slow growing realisation inside the club over the last 6 weeks that things were,if not getting worse, not improving, but that the fear that things won't get any, or much better, has jumped significantly in the immediate aftermath of the WBA game. A particular worry is that certain players appear to have no heart for the fight and that this itself is creating friction between this group and those (who, to copyright Dave Hickson) would die for Everton.

As I said, to hear that much of what has been rumoured is actually true was most depressing and distressing.

No offence but If I read that in a paper or online. I would just shrug my shoulders and say, no quotes and no real info and just says what some people might guess from any club in troubled times.

I think if we lose the next 3 games his position will be untenable, I hope we win the next 3, I hope he has a loan striker up his sleeve for Jan who bangs a load of goals in! This is the first time in over ten years that I am fearful of the drop, if we lose the next 3 its `dogs of war` time !

Yeah just hope we get it sorted this week while away.

If it is true that theres a few bad eggs half arsing it and trying to cause friction then just boot them out the club, no matter what beef you've got with staff or other players, you still get massive money to do a kin job and most importantly its a disgrace to the fans who still pack out home and away the least they can do is put in the effort
Nobody knows what is true though.
From the manager down they all need to know they are representing our great club though and get it sorted

You see, this is the big worry for me.

He will move on somewhere else and start the whole philosophy bollox all over again at Porto or Valencia or somewhere like that and forget Everton even existed.

Whereas we will be left with any potential mess he leaves behind.

Relegation at worst, a Premiership squad stripped of its prized assets and in need of overhaul a distinct best case scenario.

Which is why I cut the cushion throwers at the ground and the most vehement Bobby out merchants on here a lot of slack.

Because make no mistake, lids......the stakes here are much higher for all of us than they are for Roberto Martinez, Kevin Mirallas, Romelu Lukaku et all.

They can happily move on to pastures new.

We can't.

Martinez flirted with relegation at Wigan, I really thought he would of learnt from it. After a couple of seasons Wigan were sussed out, and banged of the park a few times, some real drubbings, all counter-attack football resulting in heavy losses and relegation. Martinez`s philosophy just does not work in the premier league it really is like groundhog day, and the drivel in the post match interviews has become irritating really. He needs to see his error pretty quickly and concentrate on defence and counter attacking or head for the exit door and put the club first

I think he does okay when we counter attack, eddy.

The problems seem to arise when teams sit back and don't give us the opportunity to counter attack them.

As every bottom half of the table team which comes here do all the time now to devastating effect.

That's where the philosophy falls flat on it gob.

If only Wigan would have sacked Martinez 12 months prior to there relegation, They could be up there fighting for a top 6 finish now and not fighting to stay in the Championship, They quality of the team he had at his disposal and he couldn't keep them in the league speaks volumes
