I'm still a no, but struggling to remember a more under-performing Everton team, in fact I can't think of a worse case in 30 years at Goodison. Worse teams for sure, but a greater disparity between performance and the potential of the squad?
Depends if you include the Mike Walker catastrophe, but that was an average side playing terribly. Right now we've a v good side playing close to terribly, which feels worse.
So RM is stinking the place out, no question that he is unequivocally failing, it's on him, and he's lucky that he's getting the time to put things right.

Here's a stat for you. 95% of English teams that have played in the Europa league and were NOT in Europe the previous season, have a significant drop in results that season. Who knows why but it's a fact. So it wasn't unexpected was it.
If you just look at it game by game, last nights result shouldn't be looked on as a negative. They played against a team that had everyone behind the ball and we know this is notoriously difficult to brake down. West Brom had no interest in trying to win the game as can be seen by the highest possession stats of any team this season. There were over 15 attempts on goal with at least 4 on target, which is quite good really. Ok I know these are just stats but they are also facts. If Baines had scored the pen, west brom would be forced to come out and who knows what the final result would then be. The game would change to our advantage that's for sure.
Be patient with the manager. We aren't anywhere near relegation material irrespective of the table. There are too many teams a lot worse than us. Ride the storm, keep the faith and get behind the boss. We are Everton ffs!
Don't think anyone is arguing with you there, Europa has a toll - but we should quite simply be coping far better than we are. It's been weeks since we played the last game in it and we're still on a hangover from it? I think not. Sort it out Bobby.

Another thing, we barely had a shot last night. 90% possession and all our shots from outside the box, flying wide, is pretty lame if you ask me. There keeper made 1(?) save, from Baines which was going straight at him albeit a little curve

Something has happened in that dressing room Im sure of that now.

Theres been rumours of a few bad apples etc but if you lose the dressing room it can be hard to win it back. The only way is to take a hard line approach- get rid of them and bring in players that want to play for the club, the manager and more importantly that Royal Blue Jersey.

If you were to hazard a guess I would say we pretty much know Distin has had some confrontation, Mirallas? Pienaar? Gibson?

Don't know but I remember when Martinez was at Wigan and there was question marks over whether he could hold the dressing room, well it has been proved now that he can't, there is major MAJOR flaws in this fella's work

Something has destabilised a very harmonious dressing room. A group of players who in the main have been together for a good few years suddenly down tools, shows something isn't right. I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes but something has gone pear shaped.

On the pitch however, I don't think Martinez can be solely blamed, a group of experienced players committing the most basic errors leading to goals against in the League, they have to burden some of that responsibility.

Them errors are of their own making, which in turn led to the loss of confidence, it's a collective issue the whole lot of them Manager and players need a foot up their arse.

He exceeded expectations last year. This year he has (massively) failed them. Like Moyes he should be judged over the course of several seasons, and deserves a chance to do better next year. Chopping and changing managers every couple of seasons is never a good idea, especially for us. We can't expect our managers to do brilliantly every year, as much as we'd like to.
Although I see your point, I don't agree. In the last 10 years we have finished 4th, 5th x3, 6th x2, 7th x2 and 8th. Martinez did not exceed expectations last year by bettering the season before by one place.

Martinez brought in a style that none of us had seen due to a decade of Moyes, when it really mattered he failed last season too; the quarter final destruction to Arsenal, losing 3 of the last 4 games after securing the win over Arsenal which all but should have meant we were a shoe-in for Champions League.

Who do we bring in though? I'm not saying that's the basis for being in the martinez out camp...but why the f*** would we bring in!??

Yea

Yeah I agree not everything is perfect. I blame certain players for it rather than the manager.

Serious question

Take out the bottom three, Could you see any other manager in the league doing worse with this squad of players

Probably not no

But who would we bring in? Who would realistically be a candidate?

Again I'm not saying that if you want martinez gone you should have a replacement in mind

I shouldn't

I'm not the chairman

His job would be to look around Europe and find a replacement

Pressure is mounting on Martinez now and defeat against Palace will surely see him out the door

We have never had a worse points total after 22 games since it went to 3 points for a win, never mind 30 years and the potential of the side.

Entertaining to see how fickle most fans are. People were feeling pretty positive after City and West Ham. We had started playing more direct like people wanted. Things are changing. Slowly yes, but it's never a quick turn-around when you're going through a bad spell.
Everyone can see how hard it is to break down a Pulis team. It wasn't like we weren't totally dominating the game.

At the end of the day, if Miralas had scored that pen then we probably wouldn't be having this conversation. We'd all have a positive attitude and be talking about how we're turning things around. That 'no' percentage would be closer to 75%; yet it wasn't Bobby who missed that pen was it.

Keep Martinez and add to our squad!!
The bench was not very frightening last night, we need some impact players! We need players to push the players in the starting 11.
