One result shouldn't make a difference, especially one like that - we've been cack against teams who park the bus for years. Unless we are seriously in danger of going down then he won't and he shouldn't.
I thought the days of us saying that staying in the league is good enough for us were gone. Below 7th this year and he should be gone, as it is we're absolutely going to be finishing below 7th, we're out of both domestic cups for the first time in our history in the first round we played and we're in a relegation fight. He goes no matter what the outcome this season.

My point is that I don't think anybody's happy – I certainly am not. It's more of a matter of whether you accept what's currently going on as a road bump or think that we're going down the wrong road altogether. I'm in the first camp.
And believe me I hope you're proven right. As I said before in this thread, I'm torn between those options. I always said I liked Martinez's blueprint for our future, but start to have doubts he'll be able to fullfill that blueprint. I'm not anti-Martinez, nor am I a knee jerker, I'm just a concerned Evertonian.

voted no, hard to stomach at the moment though. That group of players have more than enough quality to be much higher than they are. The players are not playing for the manager or the shirt which is despicable.

Who knows where it stemmed from but the rot needs to stop, don't think sacking the Manager is the answer, A lot of players need to have a look at themselves as well.

Is it a coincidence that all the team spirit died after Eto'o signed and now he's jibbing off less than 6 months later?

He exceeded expectations last year. This year he has (massively) failed them. Like Moyes he should be judged over the course of several seasons, and deserves a chance to do better next year. Chopping and changing managers every couple of seasons is never a good idea, especially for us. We can't expect our managers to do brilliantly every year, as much as we'd like to.

Post match interview doing my head in. If we don't take 4 points from the next two games then I'm likely to become pro-sack - IF there is a replacement.

Just out of interest what wold turn you to a 'yes' mate?

I guess if/when I start to seriously panic about the prospect of relegation. At the moment we're 4 points clear so if we actually start winning the odd game again we'll be fine. A win against Palace and a couple of results against the rs and Chelsea would be a good start.

Not claiming that things aren't utterly dire at the moment, they clearly are. Struggling to remember feeling this depressed about us to be honest. But we were all singing Roberto's praises after last season and rightly so, he hasn't just turned into a bad manager overnight. Gah. I don't know to be honest. I genuinely thought we'd win last night and start to turn things around so I'm only now just beginning to slightly fear that we won't.

The most worrying thing is we all said the same thing during Christmas. We all thought we were going to beat Stoke, Hull, Newcastle and West Brom.

I can't get over being called arrogant by @thefisch26 for being upset that we haven't won a game since bruce forsyth was a lad.

That's the result of kenwright's everton.

We're so used to being crap that asking to be not is called arrogance.

He's ruined our fans. He really has.

Don't know but I remember when Martinez was at Wigan and there was question marks over whether he could hold the dressing room, well it has been proved now that he can't, there is major MAJOR flaws in this fella's work

Here's a stat for you. 95% of English teams that have played in the Europa league and were NOT in Europe the previous season, have a significant drop in results that season. Who knows why but it's a fact. So it wasn't unexpected was it.
If you just look at it game by game, last nights result shouldn't be looked on as a negative. They played against a team that had everyone behind the ball and we know this is notoriously difficult to brake down. West Brom had no interest in trying to win the game as can be seen by the highest possession stats of any team this season. There were over 15 attempts on goal with at least 4 on target, which is quite good really. Ok I know these are just stats but they are also facts. If Baines had scored the pen, west brom would be forced to come out and who knows what the final result would then be. The game would change to our advantage that's for sure.
Be patient with the manager. We aren't anywhere near relegation material irrespective of the table. There are too many teams a lot worse than us. Ride the storm, keep the faith and get behind the boss. We are Everton ffs!
