I think my brain is going to explode.

YES, I GET IT, ROBERTO SIGNED SOME OLD PLAYERS TO INCREASE DEPTH. HE ALSO INHERITED A SQUAD WITH NO BACK UP CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS, JOHNNY HEITINGA AS OUR ONLY BACK UP CB, VELLIOS AS A REGULARLY CONSIDERED OPTION UP TOP, AND PHIL NEVILLE AS A WING MIDFIELDER.

You're like a kid who moans to his parents that he doesn't have a car and then complains when they get him a 2002 BMW. Sure it's not in the shape that it once was, but it's still a BMW, and it's better than having nothing.

Not to mention the fact that he's signed Besic, McCarthy, Lukaku, Galloway, Henen, all 24 and younger. But seriously, keep pushing this narrative that he unnecessarily signed a bunch of old players.

Capital letters doesn't make your point any better you know, neither does the bold.

Heitinga as the only back up CB!?!?

That lad Stones was Martinez's first signing was he?

Velios was 4th choice forward in a team that played one up top. That's currently Courtney Duffus once Eto'o inevitably leaves.

You've just made the term Wing Midfielder up yet I'm still pretty sure Neville isn't one of them.

You said he inherited an old squad, he's made the squad older and had more money than any other manager in our history to do it

Maybe we should add a poll were we can only vote 'No'? This forum has always been about opinions. Sad to see that those who dare to question Martinez are considered lesser Evertonians. And no I don't know what the answer is and I'm undecided about our manager atm. However, anyone who thinks that our current situation is acceptable should never again use 'Nil Satis Nisi Optimum ' as a stick to beat our club with.

Nice, "This forum has always been about opinions"... "anyone who thinks that our current situation is acceptable should never again use 'Nil Satis Nisi Optimum '"

I don't think anybody here is happy about the current situation or content with striving for mediocrity. It's that some of us feel that it's okay to struggle in the short-term if it means success in the long-term, i.e. that Bobby's underlying philosophy is sound, and that with time and some new personnel we will be the best. My interpretation of "NSNO" isn't that we have to actually be the best ALL the time – otherwise, the past 30 years have been a waste. It's that we are constantly striving to be the best, something I firmly believe the club is doing.

I dont think he should go, but I am worried. Looking at the remaining games I can only see us getting 12 points from the last 16 games of the season, based on the current form, which would give us 34 points and last year Norwich were relegated on 33 points.
I hope I am wrong and we win 3 or 4 on the bounce, I just dont see it happening right now

We don't have to be the best all the time. That's something we haven't been since I started to support Everton 30 years ago. Still doesn't mean that we should be happy with the current situation. I desperately hope.for Martinez to.turn it around but surely our current predicament doesn't help in that.

One result shouldn't make a difference, especially one like that - we've been cack against teams who park the bus for years. Unless we are seriously in danger of going down then he won't and he shouldn't.

We won't go down by default as there are some terrible sides in the league. We probably only need 35 points. That said, to be even close to relegation with our side is a disgrace.

Both Bobby and the players should be ashamed. Last night was crying out for a winger to beat his man and whip crosses in, but we kept on trying to unlock them, it was ridiculous.

My point is that I don't think anybody's happy – I certainly am not. It's more of a matter of whether you accept what's currently going on as a road bump or think that we're going down the wrong road altogether. I'm in the first camp.

Sure as eggs are eggs that'll happen.

The failed plotters won't go away though. Their mission is to cause instability. They'll keep on and on until it's apparent it isnt happening this season. Then they'll go away and lick their wounds and start again at the first sign of trouble if it comes next season.

What a ****ing pointless existence.
Davek, I think there could be a job for you at Talksport.

We have had plenty of polls on Roberto, can someone do one for our chairman??
Why not? I think everyone knows where I stand...

The whole penalty debacle brought to a head how some players are playing for themselves rather than the team. I questioned this when 2-1 up over West Ham when Kev opted to shoot into the defender with Naismith in acres of space at the side of him. We constantly break up to the edge of the area, then all come to a complete standstill. Then Coleman, Baines etc dribble across the 18 yard line and pass it to where they just moved from, and then repeat the process until someone kicks it out for a goal kick or sets up a counter for the opposition. This goes on time after time currently. Why does no one gamble on a cross. We are so pedestrian and predictable it is laughable. Painful currently :(

Evertonians who dare to question the current manager being labelled as 'plotters' and 'having a mission to destabilise the club' is a view that is beyond bizarre, as well as being offensive.

The facts are simple, a run of one win in 13 games isn't acceptable and neither are the performance levels, we've not been the victims on bad luck, we've just been largely mince.

The manager is ultimately responsible for both, and he needs to sort it and pronto. It's a results business and he's not delivering them.

If airing this view makes me a 'plotter' then God help us.
