Sylvain Distin

He has been a good player for us. Not wanting to give him any stick as he has been good. But it is clear that age is catching up with him now.

Just hope people realise that he was a good player for us for many years, and don't completely turn on him because he's struggling to play top level football at the age of 72.

Don't get me wrong, I have bleach on hand every time he's named in the line up, but almost all of his starts this season have been forced through injuries to our other CBs.

look at rio and how much he has deteriorated and hes a year younger, its not sylvains fault we MUST buy a new centre back!

when he heads the ball you never know where its going to end up (though its never anywhere good)!

He's got a proper 50p head and can't jump. I hear people at the match when we get a corner saying "come on Sylvain, get your head on this" and I'm thinking, when has he EVER got his head on a set piece in 5 years of playing for the club, and what makes you think today will be any different?

The Derby to be fair...

Let's not go all Nyarko on the guy. Yes he's been poor this season, and if there's a rift with Martinez that's a shame. Distin has been a great signing generally, in retrospect we should have put him down last summer and avoided the current situation. The more he gets picked the worse his legacy becomes.

didn't see what happened regards to him ignoring martinez, what happened? did martinez go to shake his hand or something?

He tried to talk to Distin as he came off pitch. Distin just totally blanked him. He needs to leave in Jan if we can get a new CB. Definetely dis-harmony there
