We're missing a trick if we don't upgrade Howard. A top class goalkeeper can be very cheap for the difference they make. Spurs got Lloris for £8m for example. De Gea cost Man U £18m which is LOADS for a keeper but he's probably singlehandedly got them at least an extra 10 points this season along. Was chatting to a Spurs fan today and he said it's probably not far off the same with them and Lloris. We should be able to get a Lloris-level keeper at least.

Add to that the fact that Howard is a bona-fide footballing celebrity in America and we could sell him to the MLS at a bit of a premium, failing to take advantage of this quirk of the market would be mind-boggling.

We just need one player, one man to take the place of the current eleven. So long as it is the right man, he'll be able to carry out Martinez' requirements.

World Cup incoming. Sweeeeeet.

Erm Martinez has took our only decent ACM and is playing him on the wing only to try Naismith and Eto'o as better options, I think it's obvious where the problems lie

In Roberto's system I don't think people understand how vitally important a seasoned ACM is, it is unfair to expect this from a 20 year old kid, especially one that has had his confidence knocked out of him by a yard dog manager like Hodkins, there needs to be someone coming and picking the ball up off the protecting two and working it, Ross done this last year and was up for it and confident, a lot of things have happened since then and I think his confidence has been knocked but Roberto shoudn't of let this happen, he should of got another experienced ACM in to work with Ross and share the burden, he is trying to rectify this now but it is a little to late and problems have arisen, last year when we were in a position to challenge for CL he let the Jan transfer window slip by without making the acquisitions that were needed to challenge for it, this summer transfer window he never made the signing's needed to cope with the season ahead, so I don't think he's got what is needed to do the right things for Everton

We've conceded 13 more than we had conceded at this point last season.

44% of our oppodents shots have gone in (it was 25% this time last year.) Yes Howard needs to take quite a bit of the blame it shows we're giving the opposition easy shots at goals.

Yet we've scored only two less goals than we had at this point last season.

We need a new player in a couple of positions but we need a new quality centreback so bad, way more than need any other positioned player.

GK & LCB are a must to reduce the number of goals we concede. The LCB needs to be able to come out defense and look comfortable on the ball. Stones will be the RCB (with Jags & alcaraz as backup).

We need to sign gerard deulofeu - then we will have Mirallas on one wing and deulofeu on the other (and barkley in the middle of the three, playing just behind the striker - rotate Naismith and Barkley).

Lukaku and Kone have goals in them (just rotate them for the striker position).

4-2-2-1-1
New Keeper
Coleman Stones New(LCB) Baines
McCarthy Besic
deulofeu Mirallas
Barkley
Lukaku

Ive gone for the goalkeeper here...
I would be willing to put big money for new nro. 1. Cause i see this injury being a catalyst for Howards departure in the summer...can we trust Joel...Im afraid not.

We need a centre back comfortable on the ball???

I see people keep mentioning this, but we don't. We need one who can defend. Look at Chelsea, Terry and Cahill are hardly Baresi and Maldini on the ball.

A winger in the mould of the old Pienaar, I.e. Someone who can also keep the ball. Most of the pressure on our defence is coming when players lose the ball stupidly.

Have to say keeper, having watched Robles the other day. I actually thought the kid on the bench may do better.

I know you have to work as a unit, but the defence needs someone who can organise it out on the pitch because RM seems unable or unwilling to do it from the stands.
