Roberto Martinez discussion

If we didn't get a win till West Brom game he needs to go before it's too late. Hope Bill will have guts and money to pay him off.

Hopefuly Joe Royle will come to the rescue. He's unproven in those days but under extreme conditions you need a tough man who will put up a fight and fire his players up, not a magician tactician.

Yes we are over-playing, but pro players should be ok with controlling and passing.

Ross's mistake an example , that is not bobbys fault.

But what i think maybe down to bobby, is the thinking that a players talent should be enough to win us games. We need fight, strength and determination and pressing.....im seeing none of this.

But he wants us playing from the back so you can understand why Barkley might think he has to control the ball rather than try and put his foot through it

You see after a string of horrendous results, shall we outline the reasons so that someone can tell the staff?

1. Martinez is a very stubborn individual and it is clear that he won't admit his weakness in his tactics, at all. He thinks the passing (side pass; back pass), possession style football will smash any team (like Barcelona) but in fact, it looks as if his style has now been found out this season. Now even when we are losing, it seems our players are reluctant to go route one or a more direct style. For instance, we were losing 2-3 to Newcastle. Amazingly, Lukaku and Coleman decided not to cross in the dying seconds...who is giving such mad instruction? No crossing in = no chance of scoring.

2. His failure to rectify our schoolboy defending causes us dearly. Our defending is doing a Wigan at the moment. At the start of season, we only have Jagielka and Stones as a good CB partnership. Alcaraz can't defend and is made of glass. Distin is 37. Yet, we failed to add players even loan to our backline. You may say he does not expect Distin to go downhill in such speedy manner but how can you rely on Alcaraz and a 37 year old to provide competition?

3. Are we having Walter Smith back oh dear. A lot of players are playing in the wrong position. In other words, they are not playing in their natural positions. The whole plan is just chaotic. The highlight is playing Eto'o in midfield hoping the "playermaker" makes some Zidane killer pass in the edge of the area when the opposition have nine players surrounding our 2/3 attackers. Barkley and Naismith who have no pace playing on the wings. This is crazy.

4. In comparison with last season, the subs Martinez made were not having positive effect to the team. At the start of season, we lost a couple of points as Martinez was doing a Moyes with late and wrong subs. Far too often it was too late before he made some needless subs in the 80 mins.

5. Our players are making defensive errors in turn. On many occasions, our players made dangerous short pass at the back (you can ask McGeady today).

6. The tempo of our attacking play is too slow. We make far many needless back pass and side pass. Whenever we have the ball we just slow the tempo down. Pass, pass, pass, pass, side pass, back pass then to the keeper etc.

The New Year here we come but there is still no improvement and the same old boring crap appearing in front of the Evertionian week in week out. This is very worrying as we are now preparing a relegation battle. Fasten your seat belt lads.

Don't want him to go but wouldn't be arsed if he did
Feel exactly the same at the moment. Don't think i could handle the stress of Bill looking for a new manager all over again but it's nothing compared to what could happen if things carry on the way they are.
I wanted Bobby to succeed so bad but after hearing his post match comments I'm terrified. Never thought he was as stubborn as moyes and would walk before he was pushed but I'm very very concerned that he's now seeing games differently from everyone else.

I'm a massive fan and he'll get it right.

BUT he's dropping the ball at the moment. He's panicking too. Wholesale changes without finding balance.

Barry should be rested. How he can play him in 2 games over 3 days at his age is ridiculous. You could see his legs had gone today.

He's also over relying on Eto'o to be this over boss player that can play anywhere. He can't. He slows attack for me in deeper areas. Play him upfront, that's all.

As for McGeady, I can see why he doesn't play him. Championship player at best.

My only concern is not getting Gibson and Pienaar ready and fit. If he doesn't think they can offer anything, then he's deluded.

Then who would we get after royle if his jobs to keep us up

The biggest worry is that every year there is a team that is mid-table and struggling to put a run together who get sucked into a relegaton battle.

This team is showing no signs of fight, to restricted to one type of play and a manager who is determined, no matter what, to stick to this philosophy.

All these signs are not good, when things clearly need to be addressed and the manager is not willing to
Ha Ha Ha.

You and your mate Ian must be ****ing made up right now.

1-0 up today and the ref does his job properly to send that Cisse **** off and the victory was there for us.

It's on fractions turning like that that this slide continues.

I knew this place had it's fair share of off the wall flakey charcters, but **** me they've crawled out of every corner in the last few weeks.

I think I'd rather have the Kopites back...in fact, hmmmmmm......

What? Gibson is broken and Pienaar is done. They can't offer anything in terms of changing a game apart from 20 minutes off the bench if that.

Oh definitely.

There's a whole lot of people who had Martinez on borrowed time even from last season. Now they're after him.

You are so over protective of martinez i have never known you to be so aggressive.

But don't you find it odd that Gibson has played more football for his national side than his club. And that Pienaar plays a 90 in Europa league then is on the medical bed straight after.

Just doesn't make sense to me

And controlling a ball un-marked is hard for a player in the prem and playing for his country ????

He made a mistake, he was not concentrating.

This.

The most of these "individual errors" which have absolutely destroyed us this season come about because of the way they are being told to play.

McGeady screwed up today for their second...the reality us the ball should never have been played short to him from our own box in the first place.

Ross mis-controls a ball in the box for the third....his natural instincts would have been to whack that ball into touch.

And so on and so forth from the getgo in August.

Philosophy my ass.
