He's not the only factor at all, the players are massively to blame for completely under performing compared to last season.

However occasion after occasion last year our man Martinez was quick on his feet to make the correct subs and change our tactics and formations accordingly. Not seeing any of that any more, the subs today were useless and if it wasn't for them being pretty much forced we probably wouldn't have even made a change of note.

Possession is great but we actually don't even try to do anything with it. We are toothless, players passing sideways forcing us into bad situations and tucking in all the time instead of going out to the wing genuinely must be on the managers instructions. It's not like we're knee-jerking over this one result either, we've actually had a terrible premier league season and the win against Villa was the only convincing one we've had in the league. If that isn't enough to ring the alarm bells I honestly don't know what is, we are VERY close to a relegation battle. Have you seen our fixture list!!

We click 'a little' against a Stoke team. Stoke. At home, on boxing day, on the back of a 3-0 drubbing, under the lights... Not good enough for me.

This is what he is up against.....he made two subs forced by injuries. Why was that useless?

He has a squad in which no player is looking much better than the other....as opposed to a squad in which people came in and did make a difference. Perhaps that is why he isnt changing it as much? Just a suggestion but its a possibility.

I dont know what your point is about what we do with the possession...we all know we are doing nothing with it. We are talking about why. I think its mostly due to form/confidence.

I dont agree we are close to a relegation battle, but I guess we will see.

And yes, when a team is in terrible form then you can take a little hope from them looking a little better at he start today, and its reasonable to say the refs decision/McCarthys defending didnt help this at all.

It is. If we're in a relegation fight in January, he has to go. That's not being unfair, that's simply acknowledging that he's dramatically underperforming and action needs to be taken for business reasons.

Can understand that yep, dont know that I would agree with it but I could understand that much more than the panic stations of some people right now.....and for the last few months!

Not good enough for you, not good enough for Everton. Why doesn't Martinez seems to see this ? He knows about our culture. He knows what NSNO means. So why isn't he demanding the best from his players in any of his public interviews ?

We can't sack Martinez now, it's nonsense, we'd be a laughing stock. That doesn't mean that fans are happy with what they've seen over recent weeks. We're right to demand better. From the players, and also from the manager.

Who do those who want Martinez gone want as new manager, btw?
That's the problem. I really respect Pulis, he seems really knowledgable and pragmatic and I suspect is a manager that would always out perform his club.

However and this is a big however you will only be a top team playing Martinez's way and I'm not willing to give up on that. Top players even young ones wouldn't go to a Pulis team.

I want Martinez to be supported with money in January and then re-evaluated at the end of the season. If I can see the team, squad and style improving I would be satisfied.

Apart from a good month in march (around that time)we have been shocking since Sunderland this time last year. The odd good result in europe the very odd one here and there in the league. Rubbish at end of last season. Rubbish pre season rubbish this season. Worring if we dont get a couple results soon. Difficult if u are in dog fight going into 2015.He gets until this time next year from me. No clear improvement by then ... out

Refs decision/McCarthys defending today absolutely didn't help I agree.

I mentioned the fact his subs were 'forced', meaning the subs were obviously like-for-like and not going to change too much, but last week no subs were made and there was a winger screaming to be brought on for example - and today he probably wouldn't have made many changes if it weren't for them being 'forced' via injury is all i'm saying.

'Hey I know let's just bring on Eto'o. I mean he won the champions league so he must do more for us than anyone else...' I just don't get it. Clearly this is why i'm no manager though, right?

We can make a difference with our subs though, by changing the damn formation or throwing somebody on to actually support Lukaku - or hell even play as a striker because that guy isn't. He's never in a striking position.

Agree with this post here. Despite me voting him out, I KNOW it would be a disaster. I genuinely don't know who i'd want to replace him, if that's what all the 'glass half full' people are wanting to hear, i genuinely don't know.

If anything I want Martinez of last year, to replace Martinez of this year.

Because to me, he seems a bit of a different guy. His honesty seems not so honest now, and his style of play is becoming painful to watch because the glaring errors with the strategy that other teams (fat sam mentioned it ffs) have ALL seen it, and are laughing at us.

Our best performances and goals this year have all been counter-attacking football, and clinical. Absolute opposite of what we actually set out to do when the XI step on the pitch atm.

Oh ok, it must because he's gone from our most successful PL manager to someone who should be sacked in 6 months then?

Ok, yeah, let's sack him and get the good managers in.

Jesus wept.

He is not our most successful PL manager. Everton have finished 5th in the Premier League before, in fact they have surpassed 5th place in the PL before. Martinez inherited a squad from Everton's most successful PL manager, and it has taken him 12 months for him to take the club back 10 years.

I find it bazaar that Martinez has been deemed a positive manager, and that Moyes has been deemed a negative manager. I have never seen anything more negative than the absolute tripe we have witnessed this season, in which we play with two DCMs, and just pass it from side to side in our own box all day long. This is as negative as it gets I'm afraid, far more negative than anything under Moyes. It is also dangerous, boring and ineffective.

It's quite amasing what a few complimentary chat up lines can do to a fan base. I wonder how bad it will have to get before people wake up and realise just how bad he is?

Theres a fine line in some games between percieved success and failure. Many fans would think McGeady coming on instead of Eto'o makes more sense but Eto'o actually played more incisive balls into the box than anybody else in his time on the pitch...on another day Naisy turns and slots for example, however they didnt come off.

Maybe he just currently not so impressed with McGeady? A lot of fans arent either.

..havent said all that, i cant really explain the no-subs vs Saints.

Thread similiar to initial moyes-out ones on utds redcafe. There too, "non believers" initially accused of treason/told not to believe their eyes etc. Numbers grew with each inept performance until flyby booked and ginger consigned to annals of old trafford history. Hope bob can save himslf and us but i wouldnt bet a turkey carcas on it :pint2:
