Roberto Martinez discussion

  • Everton manager Roberto Martinez on BBC Sport: "Very disappointing. A game with nothing between the two sides apart from ourselves not being able to defend the six-yard box better.

"It is about how we defended the six-yard box, the other two goals were the same. They didn't have to do much to score three goals. It was not a case of them being superior to us, it is just we were very soft.

"I do feel we need to find a good run of performances. I don't think the performance was too far away from what you need to get good results."

Sorry what? Negged.

Both useless kernt managers who are living off purple patch seasons.

Yet one is missing their best player whilst the other has their best player yet is playing them out of position every week/chopping and changing a winning side.

Boo hoo big boy Brendan speaks tosh in the media so does "phenomenal" bobby take the blue tints off

1 He's boss,
2 He's bosser than boss.
3 He had a ggreat first season that great i didnt realise i put two g's
4 He's now bieng naive
5 Brown shoes are so last year

It's a smorgasboard of acute sh1te that he's heaping on us at the moment.
  • Consistently playing three "number tens" (in his language) in the same team with two of them out wide. For the 10th time. Without success.
  • A complete lack of urgency in the final third which may be related to the above.
  • A ponderous midfield which was lifted briefly with Barkley and Besic against QPR and duly scrapped for Southampton.
  • Our record striker playing in a system that not only negates his threat but absolutely ruins him.
  • The opposition buzzing off us as our centre backs pass the ball amongst each other without moving it forward.
  • Really crap subs.
I don't want him fired, I just want someone to shake him really, really hard and ask him to sort it out as it's very obvious things to fix.

And dare he be even slightly positive in the post match interview.

Lukaku is wasted. He's a top, top striker and we waste him. Spot on with the three number 10s stuff too...I wish we actually had one instead of three who cant do the role like.
Martinez has been an utter coward this season. But he's earned the right to sort this out and see another season off at least.

Second season. New manager.

Surely our fans are better than talkng about sacking a manager who gave us our best season pointswise...currently has us midtable and in.next round of Europa despite playing like crap?

No...unfortunately many fans seem to lack any patience and ability to deal with their team being a bit crap sometimes.

Seriously...some you deserve to support Newcastle.

Having said all that I have no idea why no subs...unless he thought anything attackingwise would only hinder us more...and then the game was gone so it was too late.
People debate and have opinions are you so sad you have to give reputation points.
Glad i am not in your class at school

You just said you'd have Brendan Gnashers Rogers managing our club. There's not much else to say really.

Yep agreed. This is his worst patch and biggest test. We'd be silly to even contemplate jibbing him off. Let's see how he can make his team react.

Doubts are now creeping into my mind. Last season he was a breath of fresh air after 11 years of hard labour with Moyes. This season, his decisions are leaving me a little confused. Yes I know, we are all armchair managers and what the hell do we know right? After watching Everton for over 35 years I can say that even I can see mistakes in his decision making.

The problem is, football is a simple game and I think some managers try to over complicate things. If we don't win a game between now and the new year then I will be in panic mode.

100% this. Possession means absolutely nothing. Play through the opposition and stick it in the net.

Your arguing he saved them from relegation when he relegated them mate.

It's like arguing someone saved a person life before dunking their head back into the water

His flexible tactics did save them from relegation more than once. That they ended up relegated in the end doesn't change that fact.

Whether he is to any degree to blame for Wigan ultimately being relegated is an entirely different argument, and one that I can't be bothered getting into at the moment. Just like at Wigan, Martinez has been good and bad at Everton. He's adjusted in the past, let's see what he does now.

Sad thing is I would rather this clown atm, they will atleast improve slightly with sturridge back what's our excuse?

Good man. Rodgers in for you then, is it?

Rage...fume....ott...everythings a disgrace. Everything is black and white...definitely this or definitely that.. Its all very childish to me.

A decent club and fans will give a manager time. I'm pretty sure the club will.....some of the fans however..
