ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Ludogorets are 3/1 to beat them Wednesday, that's most likely an excellent price.

That looks good value. And Liverpool will need to press for the three points if the score in the other match is going Basel's way or looking like a draw. That dodgy defence is going to be all over the place.

Let's not kid ourselves, that Ludogorets team is poor. But I don't think that GD will get much healthier and I imagine Basel will get whatever result they need when they meet up again.

They were better than liverpool at Anfield and liverpool were in better shape then. If they can beat Basel at home then they can find a result against liverpool.

I thought that too Dave. Wasnt it Balotellis late goal that won it that night?

Carra.

"There are no men in that Liverpool team"

Knee. in. the nuts.

Too damn right. They are a characterless, amorphous mess at the moment and deserve to be in a lower position than they're in. Rodgers won't make the big call and drop Gerrard and, even if he did, Lucas Leiva and Joe Allen aren't exactly top-class midfielders who are going to grab a game by the scruff of the neck. I don't even know what good players Liverpool have anymore. I'm starting to question my original assessment of Sterling, Sturridge is a crock and Coutinho makes about one Hollywood pass every six games that earns him enough credits to be ignored by the wave of fume.

Basel aren't great either. Better than Liverpool, to be sure, but it's a testament to how bad Liverpool have been that they got one of the easiest groups (RM aside) their UEFA coeffecient would allow and still look the worst in it.

Here's Rodgers criticising Spurs for selling Bale and spending that money on a bunch of players not at Bale's level, a mistake he'd never make with Suarez...

And here's Rodgers criticising Southampton back in August for selling players instead of challenging for top 4....

Endorsing Malky and Moody there too. Not particularly surprising.
