boss post mate, despite what some would say we are doing fine, consolidating our postition on the shoulder of the top4, in preperation for a concerted top4 assualt post christmas.
Remember, we are Liverpool, we are boss.

Long term the future is great, we have a talented and very young squad and the club is in a healthy place on and off the field. Even if we don't make the Champions League, its still all golden.

There is nothing wrong at the club that a good dose of luck wouldn't solve!

Thing is, even if FSG sack Rodgers their understanding of football is so limited they could easily make the situation worse.
Martinez knocked them back due to interference from directors above, so they employed Brendan based on a nice 180 page document he made in Word. They paid 20m for Downing based on a fake video and Lovren because he knew all the words to YAWN.

Wednesday will be very interesting.

Word? I think we all know deep down that the dossier could only ever have been done in PowerPoint.

Rodgers will lose his job because of his unwillingness to use Lucas instead of Gerrard. I won't be calling for his head, but it is an eventuality that will come to pass due to the results. Excellent manager who [Poor language removed] up the transfer window big time, but I still we'd grind out a result in games like today , villa and newcastle if Lucas was playing as the enforcer. The midfield without him lack fight and personailty. We went down to 10 men today in the build up to their first goal. Lucas would've been alert enough to read that situation and make a cynical foul on Bolasie as he broke clear of our midfield ranks. Gerrard doesn't have that fight and awareness and it is costing us literally every game.

There was a lot of people singing Lovren's praises in the summer. It looked very premature to me at the time. He did nothing in France and he was hit and miss for S'ton, despite all the stats suggesting he was destined for greatness. Not for the first time has hype around a player massively inflated their fee. Honest to God, they must piss themselves laughing abroad seeing clubs over here paying a king's ransom for a player as limited as Lovren.
Southampton must be buzzing of those deals, like a big old buzz, buzzy thingy:D

As I said before, Gerrard is in our top 5 ever players, but there has to be a time when you take him out for the good of the team, he's nearly 35, and if he had a Pogba and a Vidal alongside him (as Pirlo does, and who I reference as they are in similar scenarios positionally and in their careers) he could play that pivot position very well, but he always has Coutinho/Sterling/Lallana in front of him, who are very attack minded individuals

I have never really understood what a pivot, reversed or inverted, is. In a football team that is.

Other than to make yourself sound clever and incisive about football.

£16 million for Balotelli.

They were lauding it as fantastic when he signed in the summer. lol :bye:

To be honest, I thought that was a decent bit of business when it was announced. It's looking like I got that as wrong as they did. I still think that a considerable factor in his lack of success is the system in which he is playing though.
