Christian Atsu

I thought Atsu showed a fee good flashes in the Palace game if I am honest with you.

....I think he's been poor. I thought he would be busting a gut to impress but that hasn't been apparent. There was one run and cross, though, against Palace that was really special and provides hope that he will have something to offer. I thought he was just getting into that game when he was subbed.

I'm not giving up on him, some lads take longer than others to settle.

Agree with this lad. Lets hope he does improve. think it will take a few massive cameo performances for him to force his way into the team mind

Wonder if the lad will get a proper chance? With the ACON around the corner I would have thought RM would be using him as much as possible now before losing him for a while.

Seems a waste of a loan signing so far although I think he could offer us something.

Bad signing not ready for the 1st team and way behind Gerry.
We needed someone ready and to think this dragged on for about 6 weeks big mistake by Martinez.

Shown absolutely nothing so far to merit a place in the team. Unfortunately he is inevitably being compared to Dela which isn't helping him. With Mirallas out this has to be his big opportunity to get some minutes.

The lad hasn't played enough to be judged on mate if we're being honest. Still has to adapt to the league.
My point is that we should have loaned someone ready to step straight into the 1st team especially with the Europa league this season.
Your right he does have to adapt to the league and I think he will be a very good player but I just don't see the point in the loan for him,us or Chelsea.

I see it as an option to take on a player who gives us numbers on the wings for Europa and see if someone who clearly is talented will suit the league. If he is well worth it, then we can pick him up on the permanent fee we've pre-negotiated with Chelsea. If not, then we've had an extra number to fill the squad who has hopefully offered something for very little risk.

He is not playing in Europe though.
I just think with the extra games this season we needed a winger who was ready to play.
The thing with atsu is he is very raw and quite a way off a squad place so I just don't get why we loaned him.

Atsu hasn't showed much on the pitch although his chances have been few. You can only guess he is not setting the world alight in training or bobby would have given him more starts.
