Computer games.

Yeah, I've got to level 21, done most stuff except the raids. Don't know what to get with the trade in, believe Battlefield 4 is a mess.

Big patch came out end of September, fixed a lot of things. Netcode has been sorted a lot. Still a few issues, like Air Vehicles getting dominated by land AA vehicles. A few others but I can't think off the top of my head.

I do really enjoy the game though even though I seem to slate it a lot.

Is The Evil Within any good? Looking on getting it.

In also just not good enough to get loads of points in crucible neither. The story is pathetically short & easy. Strikes are alright, but I've moved house, won't have Broad band till next month.. :/ so cannot even play it!

Ah that's a bummer. What level did you get too? It's proper short, I didn't even realise I had completed it at the time.

I'm dead gutted my pc is gone kaput as I've got a fair stash of games on there. Not sure how many of my saves are on the cloud, which is annoying as I'll lose all my progress.

What happened to your pc? The data on your hdd may still be accessible/retrievable...

Oh hopefully it will be, there was a fan problem. But there may be associated hardware damage as a result from the fan. I'm waiting on the repair shop who haven't been forthcoming with details, so I'm chasing that up tomorrow.

Payday today! Watchdogs or Alien Isolation?

I found Watchdogs tiresome and longwinded ultimately after giving it a couple of months, I even defended it as a slow burner on this thread

BUT
It's fairly poor tired and repetitive, as most ubi games are becoming.

I've just got Alien: Isolation and I'm enjoying it at the moment, only about 5 hours in but you can scare yourself silly once you get the motion tracker, it's just blind terror and rash decision making for me at the mo, I've been baling into every cupboard and locker I can find. Tense!

Let us know mate. Obviously don't tell me what happens but just a general opinion of how it plays, feels, looks etc...

I've played about an hour or so. I'm really enjoying it if I'm honest in a sort of, this is kind of scary, kind of difficult way. The game doesn't hold your hand and show you what to do from what I've played so far. There's no objective markers or anything like that. The AI are really annoying, in a good way, they check rooms, react to sounds really well, chase you and ultimately, always win in a fist fight. Ammo on medium difficulty is scarce so far, so hiding, sneaking and sneak kills have been my friend so far. Making it hard because I'm one of them who loves to just go guns blazing and try and to it that way.

I'm playing on 360 and the graphics aren't really impressive if I'm honest, when you look at the likes of GTA 5 and Destiny, this game isn't near those, anywhere. Not to say they're terrible, just some things look a bit odd and glitchy at times.

The way they've set the game if perfect however. There's that widescreen movie look which is really immersive, I feel like I'm playing a movie in a way. There's a sort of grain to the graphics which I think was intentionally put there, really adds to the gritty darkness the game is trying to create. The lighting of all the places I've been really does well to set the feeling as well.

So far, I have no idea what's going on with the story as I'm not far in at all, but whatever I'm fighting against are terrifying to look at and to hear. You can hear certain ones plodding along, groaning and moaning while dragging axes along the floor, stabbing walls. Then the big chainsaw lids are just straight up horrid. NO THANKS.

The controls so far are nice, the lack of jump annoys me as it's a contextual system they've gone for which I reckon will cause me issues. The camera controls are what you expect from any 3rd person game really. Nice and smooth. I haven't played so much to dive into the likes of the inventory system as all I have is a gun with no ammo, syringes and matches so, yeah.

Gonna play more tomorrow, not really in the mood to be playing games for a long time tonight. Uni has worn me out.

Thanks for taking the time to write this. I like the idea of the grainy gritty graphics... sounds like its perfect for this game and like you say, intentional. Nice.

A.I sounds superb and so im looking forward to this. Adds to overall realism and these type of games have been crying out for this for so long, loved reading that part.

The ammo? Or lack of... yep that WAS intentional. Players will now have to think and plan there way out of situations, instead of overpowering with bullets and explosives.

There is no jump?

No worries lid!

Jumping is contextual, you can only jump over certain things like fences that are in places where you want fall a fair distance. Adds to the realism really instead of just diving over everything in sight, means you have to plan your escapes as you do them.

Yeah, the lack of ammo is good, I played through an hour to an hour and a half and I only came across 6 bullets and that was because it was a scripted thing. But as I get further in that may change. Going to smash it when I get back from uni tomorrow.
