This stood out for me, Europe is our current only saving grace and we've been pretty poor in that too...

While Everton sit top of Group H, they have managed to concede a mammoth 48 shots in two games; remarkably, six more than any of the other 47 teams.

To be fair though, Wolfsburg and Krasnodar both took shots from everywhere.

Are they on target? Bet half of them are off target and forcing shots from long range is a good thing.

If teams have had 48 shots and we've conceded 2 goals surely this means we've defended well.

Not really, the defence is supposed to stop shots.

One of the two was Wolfsburg where Howard made joint equal most saves in a Europa game, that's not good defending.

And forcing shots from the edge of the area because we are not closing down is not good defending, not allowing shots is good defending.
