Tell you what ! How quick are Stones's feet ? As a defender, to have feet that match your reading of the game is priceless It can get you out of so much trouble and make it all look so easy. The lads a player and I love him.

top class today, easily our best centre back atm. get alcaraz alongside him at OT! jagielka will sh*t himself against van persie and falcao

Great job from Martinez tonight.

First off, the general plan in this comp is to draw away, win at home.
Secondly, these aren't sh!te and we weren't entitled to beat them by any means, bookies I saw before the game had them favourites to win to 0.

It was pretty obvious early on they wouldn't be able to keep up that intensity for 90 mins. Martinez' will have obeserved their approach from videos with the plan to absorb for 70 mins, see where we were and control the last 20 when they tired.

Also great half time substitution, pace on either wing wasn't working and Roms presence alone pulled them deeper.

i'd still start him vs united though. he has too really, we have no options ha

Then I'll expect him to revert to his pinball table bumper first touch sadly. You never know though, maybe everything will fall into place, but it's dependent on what Martinez does, and if everyone is being honest with themselves Brown Boots hasn't exactly shone this season thus far.

Well, our performance from 70 mins onward was much better. Actually trying to get on the ball and dominate play, defenders not just hoofing it when under no pressure. Not great, but considering how we started that game I'll take a point.

That's one way of looking at it. The other is why take that gamble by starting with such a strong team if you are playing for a narrow scoreline and have a massive game just hours away. And, if you do take that gamble, surely you rotate and use all three subs? We were crying out for Naismith on at the very least for the last 15 minutes.

Still though, agree with what you say in general, I'd have snatched your hand off for a point prior to kickoff. I just don't think that was the game plan put in place on purpose by Martinez; I just think it kind of happened as Krasnodar decided to drop deep like idiots to protect a 1-0 lead like Liverpool.

Win the homes, draw the aways, that will do me just fine in this competition, also that is the toughest trip out the way (in the group stage anyway)

Also, Eto'o is going to have a very big say in our progress in this competition, not a vintage performance but the point will do me just fine.

An incredibly positive assessment, but we were poor. That being said, a draw against any Russian team away has to be viewed as a great result.

Yeah it wasn't a great performance but it wasn't going to be an easy game, we all knew it was going to be tough, It's hard to beable to play your best football away at a place like this and in the end it was a very good point.
