Quite simply put the ball between him and the goal and it will end up in the net the vast majority of the time, the lads lethal given a sight of goal and that sort of ability costs big bucks.

Clearly he needs to work on certain aspects of his game and only last week Lukaku did an interview with the echo admitting this. That sort of honestly, dedication and inner drive he talks about are what will take him to the top and he couldn't be at a better club with a better manager to help him get there.

FFS, yes. He's worth the 28 million. How could you not want a striker who has put up so many goals in his first two EPL seasons?

And Rom draws defenders with him, freeing up others like Naismith (and Barkley when he returns) - just think of that goal Naismith had against Chelsea this season.

If I was Rom I'd be banging on Martinez' door this morning asking why every time we play a big game he's moved out to the right?

It clearly wasn't working on Saturday so why wasn't it changed? Their defence has been poor and we gave them an easy ride by not really playing with any forwards. Jags defo got Martinez out of the sht on Saturday, and I fear that Martinez is too stubborn to see what is wrong.

....sitting with the reds on Saturday they were clearly uneasy each time he got the ball, especially in he 1st half. I think he was the key acquisition for RM, the type of CF that fits his team model. We've been crying out for a strong and mobile goalscoring CF for a while and now we have one. You see similar types on TV highlights and watch them smash home goals but when you see them for 90mins week in week out you see their weaknesses, warts and all.

My view is that we swapped him for Fellaini (both £28m) and that's good business as far as I'm concerned.

This.

Funny how these threads about Rom (of which there are about 75 now) when he hasn't scored the previous match.

Exactly, people are expecting him to have a massive impact immediately. I think he has done well so far this season (not at his best or the heights of some parts of last season).

His slight dip in form may be magnified by overall dip in form.
