Tim Howard

Howard was brilliant today. Apart from the free kick he was superb. He's having the oddest season where hes either great or a mess.

Howard did well, pulled off a few saves that kept us in it, as for the free kick if Baines did that down the other end no one would say it was the keepers fault.

The whole problem with the free kick was he was standing in front of his line so he was diving backwards and had to step a further distance to get to the ball. Then when he got to the ball he was moving into the goals and got there late do he was never going to be able to palm it away.

Other than that I thought he was fine but as a goal keeper one moment can and will define if you have a good or bad game.

I agree he gave Slippy a heck of a target to aim at.

Poor positioning, IMO.

i was screaming at the TV for him to get the wall over a bit, exactly the same as suarez last year. it was only ever going to go one side of the goal so why position the wall so centrally? made worse by the fact gerrard basically pointed to the corner of where he was going to put it, missed that target by about 4 yards and still howard flapped an OG.

hate it when people determine a goalkeeper's performance as good because "he made a few saves".

every keeper worth their salt would have made the saves, it's the saves he makes that he shouldn't be making which are what determines a good performance.

you wouldn't catch my saying a striker played well "because he had a few shots". if we're doing it on that, balotelli gets 10/10 for today's performance instead of pointing out the amount of times he wasted every move and missed a sitter.

Not everyone jumped. The wall didnt do its job. Gerrard is only ever going for placement and had everyone jumped, it would of hit the wall.

Having said that, howard gets a full hand on it. Surprisingly weak hand. Howard for me isnt totally at fault.
