I was thinking about this as well. MArkovic could be a great player but could possibly be another Brent special.
Last season Howard was better than Mignolet. Given the American's performances at the WC there's no reason to suppose this will change next season.
Back 4 - All Everton. No comment necessary.
Midfield - McCarthy and Barry are both better than either Gerrard or Henderson. Besic and Gibson offer better back up than Lucas and Allen.
Wingers - Sterling is ok i guess but wouldn't snap anyone's hand off if they offered a straight swap with Mirallas. Really like McGeady, think he's very underrated.
Attacking midfielders - Barkely is the best from either squad. Coutinho would make a better reserve than Osman.
Strikers - Lukaku is comfortably the best.
Can't see anyway we finish below them. Better team, better squad, better youngsters, better manager.
This, for some reason, has caused much hilarity over at the loony bin known as RAWK.
Wonder if they still find it funny. Any lurking RAWkites care to comment.
You were the ultimate one man team and the more i see of you this season the more i think you could get relegated in the not too distant future. Your debts are already more than Leeds' were (i know you got bigger revenues etc) and set to rise even further when the next accounts are announced.
Tick tock, tick tock.
Let's review the post.
Howard or Mignoelt. There is no debate. Literally none.
Baines and Coleman or Moreno/Johnson/Flanagan/etc. There is less debate than the goalie issue.
Stones/Jagielka/Distin or Sahko lol/ lovre lol lol lol /skrtl/ agger... sorry what? he left? he was their best one though!
Tricky start to the season but I speak for most blues when i say i wouldn't have any of those centre backs over ours.
Midfield - Even the most myopic of rawkites can see gerrard is finished. Allen is average. Lucas is below average. Henderson is slightly better than both.
Gibson, Barry and McCarthy are better than all of them.
Strikers - Lukaku and Eto'o are both better than Sturridge. Not even sure I'd take Sturridge over Naismith given the former's mardiness when asked to perform back up duties.
I'd take sterling and rotate him with McGeady and Mirallas. Probably do the samewith Lallana and Barkley and Coutnho and Osman,
There are woeful. Utterly woeful. Lucky to make top 7. Vault me.
