ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

One thing that no one's touched on is that they miss Suarez's workrate. He was an absolute madman pressing and chasing down balls, they hardly pressed at all today and against Villa last week.
He set the tone for their performances and he was at the heart of most of the positive football that they produced. Without him they're one paced, predictable and easy to pick apart

I think they miss Sturridge more, tbh - at least in terms of the balance of the side. Gerrard doesnt at the moment have the option of one or two very fast players (when last season they had Sturridge, Sterling and the racist) to hoof the ball towards and so they have to play the tiki-taka that Brendan wants to be famous for. It didnt work in his first season and it isnt really working now.

Also it does seem that a lot of sides have worked out how to play them, or rather to how not to play against them. Everyone who has done well against the nonsense has pretty much followed the same model, with the only exception being Spurs who got twatted. I just hope Martinez has taken note.
