The Dalglishs

What an incredible family they are. I have a genuine love and affection for them rivalled only by that of my immediate family.

I am a home bird. I'm lucky enough to have a Dad who is my hero, a Mum who - whilst she does my head in sometimes - is amazing, a Brother and Sister who have always got my back and whom I'm lucky enough to have a brilliant relationship, not to mention my wonderful Cousins, Nephews, Nieces and Godchildren who brighten up my life. I've even got an extended family, whether it be friends of the family who are so close I am honoured to call them 'Auntie' and 'Uncle' as I feel they are blood relations, and even my best mate's family to whom I get to call his Uncle Paul 'Unc' like everyone else and get invites to every family do. I am a very lucky person to be privileged to have the support network around me that I do. And I've not even mentioned my mates...

Despite having so many people around me, I can honestly say that the Dalglish family feel like my own. Forget Kenny's on the pitch achievements. Forget his ability as a Manager. Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish is the greatest living human I know. His passion, his ability, his desire, his integrity, his bloody-mindedness. Every characteristic the man has oozes selflessness and integrity. And possibly the greatest tribute you can pay the man is that he's not punching above his weight with a wife who shares the same wonderful qualities, and his children are an absolute credit to the family. They say you can judge a man by the company he keeps. Well the character of the Dalglish family speaks volumes about Kenny. He is a leader, an icon, an ambassador, and I am proud to be able to say that he is the figurehead for my football club and so many of the values that I hold dear.

So what has triggered this sentimental and slightly inebriated ramble? I've just been watching The One Show on my Sky Plus and feel absolute pride in the eloquence, passion, knowledge and understanding demonstrated by the wonderful Kelly Dalglish. Amongst the myriad of dismal, uneducated, prejudiced journalistic tendencies, how refreshing it was to see someone speak from the heart, backed up by knowledge, understanding, empathy and most importantly - facts.

So thank you Kenny, Marina, and every one of the Dalglish's for carrying the torch and being such incredible representatives for this club and this city.

Just got into work and read this - must be dusty in here as there's just been a little dribble from my eye as I nodded at everything you've written. Inspirational, that #LFCFamily feeling comes through so strongly, I feel ready to be super productive today now.........thanks for the post.

You know there's probably loads of conversations on there between Man Utd and Everton fans trying to one up each other with the most outlandish comment, without realising neither are talking to a Liverpool fan, but both then go back to their respective forums and post each others quotes and call each other bells.

The thing is, you know a lot of posts come from actual Liverpool supporters because half the time it's from staff or that bellend Geoff Strong/Touchstone, who's the most deluded/biased twonk I've ever seen post on an internet forum before.

He went apeshit went King Kenny Pisshead was sacked, saying that Rodgers would never be half the manager he was! Hahaha

Their everton thread is filled with such huge bile where the only posters allowed are ones who use bitter about 20 times a post, kind of irony how bitter the thread is seems lost on them, that solomon and max and a few others whose names escape me are prize A whoppers like
