Eto should have had a hatrick at Goodison last season. His movement was outstanding. I never realised just how good he is until seeing some videos these last couple of days.

Imho Eto'o signing for us is fantastic good news. Its another huge statement form the club and shows our intent to continue being a relevant force to be reckoned with even when we're talking top 4. Eto'o is still a very very good footballer who can help is with far more than just scoring goals. His experience is second to none and he still have a huge worldwide name which will help brand this football club even further. And to me it's almost incomprehensible as a long time Everton fan that we have been able to sign players line Lukaku and Eto'o. Absolutely brilliant window so far.

I dont see how. He's won the same CL's as Rooney. Rooney has won titles with United; Eto'o with Inter and Barcelona.

Rooney in his pomp was a much better all round player than Eto'o was in his. Eto'o is primarily a slotter. That's it.

Woah, woah, woah. It's been an exciting evening as an evertonian and we've all had a few drinks. Let's not get silly though.

Interview is on the Everton app. No surprises really said all the things you would expect a new signing to say. But it was interesting to see the faces on the office staff. Looked genuinely surprised to see a player like Eto in an everton shirt, like many on here. :D

That's not even a matter for debate, imo.

How on earth could anyone think Eto'o the better player? He's one dimensional compared with Rooney.

Dont let Rooney's current form cloud your opinion.

Eto'o won back to bank trebles and CL. He's won 2 more CL medals.

Rooney has one more league medal but isn't close overall.

Not comparing pkayers as they are totally different.

Davek, Eto'o was the best in the world in his position. Rooney was never close to that.

You sound like a broken record with your negativity. A player like Eto'o joining us should be celebrated. Would take him over Drogba and Lambert for goals and added experience.

Welcome Samuel Eto'o!

FWIW, I am right behind this signing now.

I just have doubts about how he responds.

By all accounts hes a model pro mate, fact mourinho brought him to chelsea after having him at milan should highlight his character, as for you thinking rooney was better than him at both their peaks, your wrong mate, eto'o at his peak was one of the top 2 natural goalscorers rooney wasnt, plus eto'os overall play was better (barca especially), and whilst the both won the champs league, eto'o achieved it 3 times with 2 clubs

One more CL medal.

The rest is just trading national titles off. It's not conclusive.

In any case, it's the player's abilities rather than the medals they won. Eto'o is a finisher. That's what you get. Rooney has been one of the best all round attacking players in Europe for 5/6 seasons. He pulled United practically single handedly over the line for years.

He proved it, at Chelsea....Mind you, one of those youngsters was Lukaku

He's collecting a check and proving he can continue to be effective but his best days are far behind him

Martinez: "For someone who has achieved nearly everything, he still has the desire he had at 15 when he went to Spain and showed what he could do. For many reasons he has got a point to prove."

Seems you're wrong Barca lid

Rooney never fulfilled his potential as he was busy being fergies perfect squad player. Eto'o would have been in a world XI for a significant part of his career.

Lineker was one dimensional too mate, still the best striker ive ever seen in blue

For what its worth, eto'o is far from one dimensional anyways, played often wide as one of the 3 for barca at their most destructive
