I remember having a meltdown at the beginning of August. Worrying we had no striker.

Now we have Lukaku and whoever this Eto'o guy is, heard he's scored a couple in the past so he'll do...i suppose.

SAMUEL ETO'O AT EVERTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I'm not trying to come across as a troll or anything, and on a limited budget, I'm just concerned about the level of commitment hell show, obviously it's a good few years since we got scorned by Ginola, Gazza etc... But just like I was concerned when we handed Barry a 3 year deal, I'm just as concerned about Eto'o, hope he isn't just here for a payday; if he isn't then it'll be a great piece of business.

According to the papers our board were concerned about his wages but he lowered his demands down to 40,000 a week, for a player of his quality, it's a steal. We know the myth of players from abroad taking a season to adapt to the league but he scored 12 goals last season, I didn't really notice him aside from the united game.

I see the concern of him being here for a last payday but players can surprise you. This might be the last club him and barry feel they can make a significant contribution at instead of being the name to sell a shirt.

If that's true, it's a remarkable deal.

We should carry out the negotiations in that room Bill usually hides in during the transfer window, you know the one where he has no phone signal and has no wifi or other way of contacting him? That way Wenger will have no chance of poaching young Samuel.

Quite excited by this, really.
He won't be a regular starter, but 40k/pw for a player of his quality would be an excellent low-risk addition to the squad.

He'll have a lot to offer as a backup striker and as a mentor for Rom and other young'uns.
Similar to how Balotelli will be keen to learn off a proven world class medal winner like Lambert... erm...

Don't think he'll play backup - I think he'll play as first choice in the Naismith role behind Lukaku, or when Lukaku moves out wide.
