ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

So if someone now doing stuff for the Sun becomes Liverpool manager next season or the season after, that'd be ok?

Rodgers knew all about the Sun and Liverpool when he put that t-shirt on and gave that paper publicity. He wasn't a wide eyed innocent. EVERYONE in football knew what the Sun meant to people in Liverpool. He exercised his judgement that it was a trade off to give them free publicity and get some cash off them for the charity he was walking for.

You can give him a free pass if you like. I wont.

I will give him a free pass Dave because this issue is a non issue as far as I`m concerned. It`s an issue raised by fans of other clubs (mainly blues) as a stick to try and beat us with. Rodgers did a charity event and in the process wore that t shirt 12 months before he was our manager. This is no way the same as Souness giving an interview to that paper not long after Hillsborough happened. Just not the same mate.

So carry on dishing out them non passes!

We both know he had no hesitation of wearing a Sun tshirt.

Then he's taken to wearing a tokenistic armband.

The man is fickle and plays up to sympathies in which ever way the wind appears to be blowing.
OK. My original point was you can`t compare the incidents between Souness and Rodgers.

I will take this as an admission that you know Brendan Rodgers is being very hypocritical and false on trying to associate himself with the JFT96 campaign + wearing armbands.

Since he was associated with the Sun not long before.

It took a lot of balls for you to admit it.

What do I call you then-
Roy
Roydo
Roydo the Peasant
Peasant
Mod
Or say [Poor language removed] all!

I know mate, I `ve read this thread a few times and gathered that from Dave`s overall love for the reds.

Roydo is just fine mate.

I cant see the difference if it's one of timing. The essential thing is that both Souness AND Rodgers had dealings post H'boro with the Sun. I dont care whether they were manager at the time or went on to be your manager. EVERYONE in football had and has a duty to give that paper a wide berth.

If it's easier for you to deal with it by denying all this though be my guest.

That`s a lot of Bizzaro assumptions right there. More an admission that I`m pissing in the wind by getting involved with blues over a discussion about Rodgers. Not a wise move on my part.

What you should have written there Dave is I can`t see the difference when something involves the Reds. I`m off now Dave, would love to catch up later and hear all about your red man crush.
