Kone looks like being one of our worst ever signings. We spent £5m on him.
I feel a bit sorry for him tbh. He was bought as a stop gap and to help Martinez's transition from Wigan to Everton and he's just been plagued by injury to the point where we can't really draw any conclusions on how good he'd be for us. But we desperately need to support Rom with one of either Remy (can't see it) Welbeck (would like) Berahino (would be ecstatic) or Eto'o (pretty short term).

I do feel sorry for him. Just annoying scenario.

Why don't we give McAleny, Long or Hope a go?

Yeah i think welbeck would be a positive addition. Possible with Di maria coming in

I'm sure people were saying the exact same thing last season when we drew with three "poor" teams to start our season.

Had we taken points there, Champions League may have been a more realistic possibility.

You just cannot drop points from the positions of strength we had in our first two matches.
As much as you can say them 3 draws cost us 4th, you can say losing to palace did or losing at the pit and so on.

We all know all it takes is a run of games and we can shoot right up, nothings guarenteed

Think they would need nurturing a fair bit and possibly loaned out at a reasonable level.

I think they'd deemed him surplus anyways, it's whether or not they would want to sell to us and for how much more than anything.

I've got to sympathise with the lad, I can't recall who it was, but he said he bet 10 quid on a 2:1 Toffees win with Coleman scoring the first, he would've won 1600 pounds...

As opposed to have no forwards on the bench though? I'd just throw them in there in the mean time.
In Europe, I wouldn't disagree, as we could possibly afford to be more flexible, with personnel and tactics. But none of those lads suit a single striker system at PL level I don't think.
