I can understand that line of thinking, but I personally think it was the right decision. He's unlikely to have a lower stamina level than last week, when he played 90 minutes.

Roberto obviously knew he was struggling, and the longer he stayed on, the more he would have struggled.

We were under pressure as soon as he came off. It was a negative sub, and would have been regardless of who he brought on in place of Lukaku because of how little depth we have in that area.

Which match mate. Todays, last weeks every game last season. You will drive yourself bonkers finding someone to blame all the time. We scored 2 from mistakes they scored 2 from mistakes. Carry on.

Great. let's not analyse the match because que sera sera.

We played very well for the first hour - good football, and contained them. For some reason we sat back, and then after 10 minutes or so of trying to play on the counter we tired and then just got over-ran.

Think we'll play 4-3-3 again next week, and it'll be Besic who plays if Pienaar isn't fit. Need a bulldog in midfield to help McCarthy with the running!

Squad depth is an entirely different conversation. You can't just leave an injured and struggling player on because you don't have a like-for-like on the bench.

Dont you remember? Naigood is a name he was being called when he first arrived. Maybe you weren't an Evertonian back then.

Of course I do but when a player proves us all wrong we can cut a bit of slack, no? Rolling out the old 'how long have you supported Everton' what a compliment, shows you have nothing else to add to the debate. The great Davek has been defeated.....or should that be 'The not so great'. In all honesty though rolling out the ethnic and how long have you been a blue is poor, even for you. Night night.

Yeah, seen a few questioning Jags too.

He didn't really do anything wrong. Was easily our best defender today (from a defensive point of view.)

I thought he was excellent. Seemed like he misjudged his header for the second goal but I only saw it live from the Gwladys so maybe he just couldn't jump high enough.
