Tiredness cost us the game. 2 of our best and fittest players, Coleman & McCarthy cost us the 1st goal by not bothering to close down corzola. You could tell by the body language that they were blowing out of there backsides. We will get fitter and better but that's no excuse as they all should be up to speed come the opening day of the season. We showed some good stuff out there today as we did against Leicester so I have no worries about the rest of the season but it is criminal that the players are not ready for a new season.
Tiredness being the problem, why didn't RM put another man with Coleman and McCarthy? They were only attacking down the left and they kept on having the extra man there. Hardly a surprise that their 2 goals came from the left.

Osman looked knackered, and should have been replaced with besic.....seemed though like Martinez didn't want to replace him as he was a substitute (always embarrassing for a sub to be subbed), but he came on early and should have been taken off at the 80 minute mark to give us some legs in midfield

Nearly every team will get beat by Chelsea, they'll walk the league and I fancy them in the CL.

It's a free hit. If anything it might suit us to play them now.

We could do with a new signing to give the team a lift too.

It is essentially the same 11 as last season, so a new forward especially could give us a nice spark
Give the team a lift -- [Poor language removed] me we've only played 2 games and we're dispirited??

Of course, Poorly worded there

What I should have said was if it was away I would agree that a defeat is very likely were as at home we have a good chance of result
Im off now mate, drunk gutted and tired is not a good place to be when having discusions with fellow fans, poor pre season has cost us IMHO and of all posters you were the one who gave me the most grief saying its wasnt important all and that it didnt matter

I suppose from what I will now say I will be criticised. Why are we playing Osman, why was Besic not on there from the off. Where the hell is Oveido, am sure there are better options than Pienaar, why was Atsu not in FFs.

Unless we break out of the mould of playing faves ala our Ex we will continue to have problems. Give the others a go Roberto!!!
Goodness me. If this was a bar you wouldn't be allowed entry for excessive intoxication.
  • Osman - came on and played well. Quick feet were key in moving the ball around and through Arsenal and exploiting space. Tired at the 70-75 minute mark.
  • Oviedo - still injured
  • Pienaar played well vs leicester, earned himself the start again. Injured before he could make an impact on the game
  • Atsu is still bedding in with the squad.

Basically we dominated them for 70minutes then the tired legs got us. Subs weren't spot on, and defending could have been better. V. frustrating but also promising that we were the better team than said 'title contenders'.

Gutted at the end but I was very surprised how well we played tbh

That Arsenal side has some talent Ramsey/Sanchez/Giroud/Ozil/Carzola/Ox and we out played them for most of the game

I can feel people ready to jump all over Martinez, Its been coming for a while imo

terrible excuse, he did the same for the whole of the second half.

wilshere broke into the first team a long time ago now, this is where people's overating comes from. he looked good at a young age at bolton, so he must be good.

he still gets picked when he's utterly useless - like i said, everything's been on a plate for him, he has no drive because he doesn't need it - he's as good as tom cleverley atm - they both have no impact on any matches.

You're coming out with the same recycled nonsense which is spouted constantly in relation to Ozil, he performed fine for us last season when he had outlets around him such as Ramsey and Walcott. Notice how his drop in form coincided with injuries to both of those players and the time period where a winter break is often in place in Spain?

Wilshere just has to find his role within the team and he'll be fine because as of now his quality will not shine if he is constantly shoehorned into positions in need.

Brilliant description of Arsenal's hundred million pound +, world cup winners containing side there.

Ignore all my other points and cherry pick one that changes the subject. Nice!

We are a stronger team this season and we have repeated the results of last season.

I did, And regarding the fitness I was very very wrong as its evident to anyone watching us its cost us in the last two games

The reason I jumped over the pre season thing was the people including you that said the performances would carry into the PL gmaes, Well that has not been the case by a long shot
