Just strange that ledson had a number now doesn't that's all in saying. You say won't feature but he was a sub last year I'd expected him to have maybe played a couple of europa games or league cup

Not especially. Springthorpe got a squad number and made the bench last season when Howard was suspended - now he's playing non-league football.

Yeah sorry i didn't mean that to sound condescending at all. Ledson hasn't been anywhere near the first team in pre-season though. He'll have a year with the reserves to develop physically.

No it's cool I agree he won't play much just a little confusing why he had a number and now he doesn't. It just suggests to me perhaps he may be about to go on a season long loan somewhere. However as he isn't 17 till Tuesday so I'd expect it to happen then

Junior must be next one on his way judging by the fact they've taken his number. Ledson will probably still be 46 but they probably decided not to put it on the list.

Should see him sign a new contract in the next week or two then, I don't think he will go out on a season long loan but maybe a couple of short term spells, Tranmere would be ideal for a few of our youngsters so they can stay living at home and can concentrate on their game rather than getting used to living away for the first time and possible homesickness issues.

Not sure I agree league two is good enough for our younger players surely the u21 league is better than league two. I also think moving away helps develop a player but that's my opinion

It think it's just about getting first team competitive football at that age, James McCarthy was playing lower league football in Scotland until he was 18, staying local makes sense to avoid disruption, at 18/19 then sure location shouldn't make a difference and the experience could as you say help to develop the players off the pitch.
