Some clarity here...the console itself or the games? I'd argue the games part but I do think the consoles themselves are decent value, I could easily drop $5-600 on a gfx card alone for a PC.

Depends on what you want it for...4k alone will cripple most cards. It's funny how that is now, though...software used to drive hardware progress back in the days of 3dfx, now it's the other way 'round. Been that way for a good ten years though.
