Agreed, but he wanted Barton and Besic together, so I didn't think he counted.

Still, he'd make a decent 6th choice CM if we wanted to risk ruining the clubs reputation or potentially destroy the positive team spirit at the club I suppose.

Barton would not get a game ahead of Barry,Besic, McCarthy or Gibson.

If you compare the careers of Osman and Barton I think it would be difficult to justify the claim
that Barton is a better player than Osman.
Since he came into the Everton team Osman has played his entire career in the premiership at one successful club.
Barton has been all over the place at different clubs at different levels.
