Mcgeady was one of the better players in the second half. People seriously do have the hate blinkers on when it comes to him.

Kit looked nice in the photos I've seen. Keen to see some highlights, sounds as if Garbutt and Lundstram were the main positives.

Glad nobody got injured, that's pretty much all I wanted from this game. Looking forward to being able to watch Sunday's game.

Just watched it. Thought Garbutt and Pienaar were motm. Garbutt is going to get games this season if he keeps that form up even with Baines and Oveido in front of him. He is very much in the same mold as Baines. The rest of the youngsters were a bit anonymous. Kennedy, Long, and Lundstrum did well on the ball when they did eventually get it. McAleny worked really hard off the ball and made the defenders work. Duffy and Browning weren't tested at all. Duffy did have a couple decent passes forward. So far I've earmarked Garbutt, McAleny, and Duffy to step up this season so I can't wait to see them get more game time.

Agreed - except I thought McGeady was woeful!
Yes they were League 2 defenders but he was getting around them like they weren't even there, he was linking up well with Coleman and Hibbert, I also noticed how well he made room Coleman to make his runs.

He didn't really connect with Hope and I don't wanna put all the blame on a kid but he didn't exactly make it easy to link up with, didn't create or move for one/two's or move into the right area's.

I thought McGeady's crosses weren't great but other than that I can't fault much else.

His final ball 9/10 went into the box, and the players should've done better with. But like you say first game and so on.

He overhit three crosses. That says he's not match fit. Trying to hard to compensate.

He's lost weight to when he came. But Summer off he's not match sharp yet.

Give him time to get sharp before judging

There were a few times he refused to pass it to other players in better positions and had it nicked off him. He also seemed to be a bit of a one trick pony this evening, fake cutting in, go the byline and cross to the far post (crossing was alright).

Mcgeady is what he is and i dont think he does enough . have watched him for ireland and been depairing of him for a long time

he may be different but plenty of better options imo

McGeady was good imo, Gibson did well and Mcaleney had a few quality touches. Thought Hope, Lundstram and Alcaraz were poor and obviously a bad mistake by a Stones for the goal.

Standout performer has got to be Garbutt. Good going forward, fantastic ball in for the goal and made a few great clearances/blocks/tackles.
