Would you pay £24m for Lukaku?

What is the maximum you'd pay for Rom?

Why would he go to the [Poor language removed]? he may as well just stay at Chelsea. Liverpool have Sturridge already and would sign lukaku and another striker too. He would not be guaranteed main striker role which is hat he craves

Said it in the other Lukaku thread a week ago Liverpool play his game. Pacy, direct counter attacking style verging on the long ball anyone thinking Rogers and co won't salivate at the idea of rubbing our noses in it really don't know the RS.
It ticks so many boxes and don't anyone hold their breath about Rom having any feelings for us in all this. Terrifying if he goes there because it'll suit him down to the ground. At 20-1 I'd lump on if I was a gambling man.

I'm sad to say I agree with all this. As much as I'm pretty relaxed about Lukaku signing for us or not (I hope he does but I'm confident Martinez would find a decent alternative) the thought of him turning up in red across the park makes my skin crawl.

They have just signed a big target man in lambert, dont think they would need both

I'm 99% sure he won't go to the RS.

1. Chelsea won't sell to them.
2. He wouldn't be first choice (Sturridge), assuming they play 4,3,3 with Sterling and that new guy on the other side.
3. He's Everton and loves us

But wasn't Lambert bought for about two quid? And given he's an RS himself he probs signed for modest wages.

I think Rodgers has such an ego and will go hell bent for the league and Europe that he'll try and cover his arse and splash as much cash as possible this summer. He'll be thinking straight away that, upon any failure. the critics will point to the RS being a one man team last year.

I hope you're right!

I agree with 1 and 2, but I don't think he loves us. Not like, say, Donovan did after his loan spell.

Thought they where signing Origi? Tbh if he could even entertain representing that lot,and there is no proof that this is the case, then we would be better off looking elsewhere. Another Barmby judas in the camp would be the last thing we need with such an excellent, fledgling team. Would Cahill or Duncan have put that rag of a shirt on?

Until a concrete answer is given we will just have to put up with both positive and negative speculation.

The perfect scenario would be for the darkness to offer him £100,000 a week, only for him to sign for us for £60-70,000 a week stating "it would be better for my development, and my desire to win things". Fatwas all over the show.

How long does the rhomboid have on his Chelsea contract? Is a transfer fairly certain over another loan? Because loaning him worked for everyone the last two seasons.

to be honest lukaku aint got any loyalty to us, he would sign for the RS in a flash for more money and champs league football. would hate it if he joined them but im not to bothered if he went else were instead of us, even if he joined us he would be looking to jump ship within a year if we werent in champs league, we need players who will commit for the long term so roberto can build for the future.

It has been said, and i agree, its not about the money, at this stage of his career.

Another point is that I doubt Lukaku would be happy to be uterrly detested by the teams he has represented so far. Chelsea cannot stand that bunch of past-living cultists let alone what our honourable selves would have to say. I just do not see him going there, I am sure Chelsea will want some sort of first refusal/buyback clause if he reaches his potential. Could you see a man who believes Sterling to be the best young prospect in the Worrrrld agreeing to that! He would have to put Chelsea in one of his envelopes for starters, though they have let them down in the past if you believe their denial!
