Decade of development

Seeing as @chicoazul doesnt seem to be around to make infantile (and yet amusing) jokes at my expense at the moment I just wanted to say that im absolutely thrilled at the way things seem to be taking shape. Especially with Martinez comments on a few of the young players.

As most know on here I ALWAYS champion youth as being the only way to compete with the rich clubs. I was disappointed in business last summer but it seems Martinez is now really taking us places with the proposed signings, in terms of young players under 25 we look like this I think;

GK-Robles
RB-Coleman/Kenny
CB-Stones/Browning
LB-Oviedo/Garbutt

CM-McCarthy/Besic/Lundstram/Ledson/Galloway/Grant

AM-Barkley/Kennedy

ST-Lukaku/Long/McAleny/Byrne

Theres 19 players there and with Baines/Jagielka/Distin/Barry here to help nurture them I think we really look like having a very positive decade with more to come.

Need these players signed up and then perhaps next seasons enormous TV money can go on a top playmaker and another kanchelskis type.

I always liked the Catalan Clown (copyright @MoutsGoat) but wad worried about his transfer record.

In short, very excited indeed!

Not forgetting George Green as LM/CAM/CM/Cantona potentially, could be the best of the lot.

Hopefully he comes good though a bit strange as martinez hinted that hes not really a team player but id have thought its always good to have a maverick to come off the bench

Bit of a weird one but using the phone when I type underneath the comment it always jumps mid sentence into the above comment and writes inside it-odd.

When does/did the decade of development begin? Theres quite a few on that list we didnt develop. I suppose getting the balance between sound transfer market investment and promotion from the academy is the key.

Id say last year when martinez joined. As hes started to build a young side/squad and has commented on a handful to make the step up after giving them 12 month plans.

Also with the oldest being Coleman at 25 he would possibly 9 more years with us.

Masses of talent there and half the squad could consist of the players listed which would be some achievement.

If this all comes off and these guys mostly develop well over the next year then next summers warchest could really be used on a couple of absolutely world class talents to fill the wings.

Two cracking goals here, and a short interview. The free-kick is just sublime. I think Martinez just said he needs to find a position, but the talent he showed in those two strikes makes him *at least* as good as Diego Maradona. IMO. lol

That training goal from conor was amazing too.

Green seems to be off on loan so a year behind the others in development it seems.
