It's alarming to see that we struggle to cough up money. How many seasons do we have to struggle to pay for our new stadium? I'd rather we not move and spend the money on players for another couple of seasons.

One reason we might have trouble to caugh up the cash it's because it's reserved for the move, and I'd actually prefer to save the extra cash for the stadium so we can get more competitive in the long run.. not just for the next season.

Big problem might be that in a few seasons this offer won't be on the table any longer and a move will cost much, much more... so we won't have cash for it then and we're starting a spiral that will, in the end, destroy us.

The fact is there are a few clubs in for Smith its just that Newcastle have had their terms of sale agreed with Manpoo. Smith will speak to all clubs that have come in for him, and that does include Everton. If Newcastle do throw a lot of money at Smith though you can't blame the lad for taking it. I would.

I thought you had to agree a fee before being allowed to talk to a player otherwise isn't it considered tapping up?

Not if the club has given you permission to talk to other clubs, when this happens the agent puts word about that they are open to offers but the prospective club has to match the owning clubs valuation first before any talks can take place.
