"Hes been out almost a year, of course hes gonna lack sharpness".
"It was a difficult chance, not many Strikers can hit them from 2 yards out"

Kone Bingo for next season.

Been fined for jumping a red light on Queens Drive back in January. £145 fine, plus prosecution costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

Told you all he was quick.

An Everton FC footballer has been fined £240 for jumping a red light in Liverpool.

Wirral magistrates’ court issued the fine after Arouna Kone wrote saying he would be unable to attend the hearing in Birkenhead.

In a letter to the court the Ivory Coast international, of Great Sankey in Warrington, had said he was away and asked for another hearing in July and asked for an interpreter to be present.

He said in his letter, read out to the court: "I recognise I am guilty."

But chair of the magistrates bench, Mrs Eadsforth, said the matter could be dealt with in Kone's absence.

Prosecutor Matt Routly told the court Kone had been seen in a Mercedes ML250 AMG Sport Bluetec at 2.28pm on January 11 this year passing a red light at the junction of Queens Drive and Millbank.

Mr Routly said: "He failed to comply with the traffic signal."

Earlier this month the ECHO reported that Kone has cancelled his summer holidays as part of a bid to revive his faltering Blues career.

Kone, who made only six appearances last term during an injury-ravaged debut campaign at Everton, said: “I’m going to remain here and work really hard over the summer to be ready and hit the ground running in July.”

The magistrates fined Kone £145, plus prosecution costs of £85 and A £20 victim surcharge.

Just realised that 2:28pm on January 11th this year, we were 32 minutes away from playing Norwich at home.

He must have been late and on his way to the game, given he was done on Queens Drive.

Wouldn't he be slow if he was lazy?

Surely this shows a desperation to get to the School of Science for a game of football? Cut the lad some slack.

He was driving a car and was late, thus meaning he was being lazy at some point in order to be late, hence the statement, "lazy sack of utter crap" and also he couldnt be bothered to go through the tunnel and spend his time in Court, so not only is he DRAGGING the good name of Everton Football Club through the mud, but hes showing massive disrespect to the men and women of the Wirral Magistrates Court.

So lazy and disrespectful utter sack of complete crap.

Wasn't like he was playing the match vs Norwich was he? Unlike a certain Mr Beckford once upon a time. How do you know Kone wasn't caught up in bad traffic?
"Oh no, he's going to be sat in his Main Stand seat 5 minutes before kick off instead of 30! Sack him now!"

He also owned up to it straight away, acknowledged he was guilty, didn't try to use famous traffic lawyer Nick 'Loophole' Freeman to get himself out of it, and he asked for an interpreter and for the case to be heard in July when he was back in the country. They prosecuted him in his absence.

Behave yourself with the 'dragging the name of Everton through the mud'. He ran a red light, millions do that every day. He didn't even get banned or any points on his license. Minor minor thing, akin to driving with one of your rear lights not working.
