ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

From an apparently 'trusted' Liverpool forum poster

Why would Southampton be selling one of their solid assets for so little? I know he's not Southampton's best player, but he'd be worth far more to them than they'd likely get in a transfer fee from anyone (bit like an Osman bid would for us now or previously Neville when the Tottenham bid came in).

That ITK line looks like a typical appeasement one, dream from every POV etc. Buying an international for peanuts, he's taking a wage cut, squad player and it's only a short-term deal. Makes you wonder why either Southampton or Lambert would take it.

The Echo: well they've gone and done it. A whole day to pipe up and say something about the Heysel Disaster and they chose to ignore it.

What a repulsive bunch of talentless reptiles.

Stick to your crap interactive season reviews lads. You failed as journalists long ago.

They actually tweeted one small message early this morning , without actually mentioning the disaster in name or gave any context.

lambert's a liverpool fan.

so quite possibly he's demanded to leave for his dream and with no boss to stop/persuade him otherwise? it is a pretty bad deal for soton if that's the fee, however i'm laughing. i thought they'd be able to attract the best strikers in the world now they're back where they belong amongst europe's elite ha. not sure how he'll fit with their kick and rush game, but he will be good for their diving for pens.
oh wait, ha, as if stevie self-centred would pass the glory on.

umm they score a lot from set-pieces so he'll be good for that.
