Everton Youth Teams Thread

...Brazil 1-0 up at Half-Time, disappointing game really. Garbutt more involved via free kick responsibility, Browning not showing any inclination to get forward. Apparently he's a very shy lad, reckon he will eventually realise what his power and pace can mean on the pitch.

...2-0, good finish but more poor defending. Browning looks like a lad who needs the penny to drop, a monster waiting to come out. I'm sure that will happen, just looks a bit in 2nd gear. Garbutt on the other hand much more confident. So much of the game for these youngsters is between the ears.

....I think they now need Brazil to slip up, unlikely to happen even though neither side looked particularly impressive.

Brazil only have Qatar left to play so topping the group is pretty much a cert for them, second place is between England and South Korea, our next opponent, we are currently one point behind them in the group but have played one less game.

....I got the impression that only the top team qualify, so England will be heading home when Brazil see off Qatar.

The two second placed teams in the group play a 3/4 place match, pretty pointless but it's more experience for the lads. The format was changed this year, they always had a semi-final round and then a final, which meant two competitive games to win it after the group, now the winner only has one and two teams play a dead rubber match, strange decision.
