Romelu Lukaku's Expectations

He really is restricted on CL teams to match his ambition, it would have to be one with realistic chances of going all the way , which narrows it down to about 8-10 teams. Chelsea won't sell him to a genuine rival. If it was just to play in CL he could sign for Ajax.

I think he's keen on CL, as has widely been reported, and whilst we didn't make it, I actually think the club could turn him back in our favour.

The kid has arrogant ambition, and I mean that in a good way. What the club needs to do is sit down & convince him that it's one thing to walk into a club already playing CL, but it's something completely different to have a team built around your ability & gaining CL!

Just a thought...

I sadly think that means nothing to players today, no matter how ambitious they are

Most players would rather be a bit player in a team already in the CL than the leader of a team looking to qualify for it

Just the impression I get. Look at all the players who left us for guaranteed success rather than knuckling down and earning it with us

I'd like him to help out those less fortunate than him. I'd like him to go to Church 3 times a week. Maybe cook a nice meal for his girlfriend or mates every couple of weeks. Go to bed early and not play computer games until all hours. Don't swear as much. Maybe try and learn a musical instrument. Put a nice (ironed) shirt on when he goes out.

Try his hardest and be the best he can be. That's all you can ask, really.

Jose has said it has been a succesful loan for all 3 parties.
Everton- got a great striker for a year
Lukaku- A seasons experience as main striker at a top 6 club
Chelsea- The only way they must of benefited is they have a player now more 1st team ready

Personally I think Chelsea will keep him

I think so too and we'll sign ba either on permanent or loan

I think so too, but if Jose goes and gets Diego Costa/someone else - Lukaku will push for a transfer himself, and we're ahead of the pack for that scenario cuz he's already been here.

If Chelsea buy two big-name strikers, as the media insists they're going to, it would suggest Jose doesn't think Lukaku is ready for CL football. In that scenario, I can actually see them loaning him to us again.

1) We aren't going to be competing for the Prem title (yet..... 2015/16 however, we might)
2) We aren't going to affect Chelsea's CL campaign
3) We aren't one of their hated London rival clubs
4) We can offer Europa League experience for the kid
5) We've shown this year that we can nobble Arsenal, stopping them from catching Chelsea. You know Jose loves the taste of popcorn.

It's actually a decent means for Chelsea to let him develop - and if he flops in the EL, then they'll have lost nothing.

If we can loan him for another season it will make a MASSIVE difference to our summer spending plans. Imagine this:
Barry - free transfer
Deulofeu - another season loan
Lukaku - another season loan
Lescott - free transfer
Diame - £3.5m

Even with loan fees and signing-on fees, that lot would cost less than £10m. Ok the wage budget might squeal.....
No way is he going out on loan again, they need the cash to offset their summer spending due to FFP plus he's only got 2 years left on his contract so theyll have to cash in this summer

He's not fit enough to play 90 mins every week at a high level. When he's fatigued you see a marked drop in his performance.

He needs to work on that, his touch and his heading.

If we sign him, which I doubt, he will need to improve his first touch. It is poor for a player who is allegedly worth twenty million notes.

I do think he wants to feel settled somewhere: I hope that it is at Everton.

You would assume that we will have another striker competing for a starting place with him next season, which would probably mean less minutes in the league. Goals/assists wise, if this was the case, I'd be happy if he was involved in the same number of goals.

I agree with with what has already been said as well, he needs to improve his first touch and cut down on the number of games he anomalous in, but that could be down to fatigue. I'd also expect him to boss his way through the Europa.

doesn't help that his build is so big, especially given his age. but with the pace he can generate given that big build, he'll be frightening at his peak imo.
