Think Ian Snodin did convert to right back for a while and played quite well. He was even called to the full England squad. His link up well with Pat Nevin. Unfortunately, he was injury prone.

Yeah he got an injury that put him out of the world cup ( was that Italia 90? ),as I remember him being in the England set up. Or was it the Euros?

OK I'll rise to the bait. Osman is a decent player with a lot of technical skill and 42 PL goals to his name, who's justified his place in the team many times over. You can't compare him with players like Tony Thomas who should never have been allowed anywhere near the Premiership.

It wasn't bait it was my honest opinion, how many times has he cost us games getting overran in the midfield an bullied off the ball too many to count.

The amount of times I have heard his name on the radio in the first 11 on the way to Goodison when there's been better options is too many to count even under roberto this season too.

Maybe not as bad as Tony Thomas but look at it this way what other team in the history of the Prem would of gave him 10 years none if you ask me, and granted tony thomas was a defender but who's to say he couldn't of scored 42 goals over a 10 year period and had the odd good game to justify his place in the team over 10 years, many unprofessional footballers could achieve 42 goals over that period if they had as many starts as Osman has had.

Our squad that season had some names in it to make you shudder, omigod. John Oster, Mitch Ward, Carl Tiler, Tony Thomas, Danny Williamson, Phil Jevons, John O'Kane. Madar and Cadamarteri were pretty gash, but at least they netted a few goals for us. Michael Branch on the other hand ... John Spencer must have been megagash because he couldn't even break into the team.

In 1997 we must have had the worst scouts in our history. That year alone we bought Tony Thomas from Tranmere, John Oster from Grimsby, Mitch Ward and Carl Tiler from Sheffield Utd, Michael Madar, and Slaven Bilic (3 red cards in 28 appearances). We actually paid West Ham £1m plus the excellent David Unsworth in return for Danny Williamson, who played 15 times for us without scoring, got injured, and never played again.

i agree with all this, we paid people to scout players and thats what they came up with?! i want answers

If this post isn't a joke then I regret to say that it is embarrassing bollocks. No-one plays 300 games for a top-six club, scoring 50-odd goals from midfield as well as earning England caps, if he is a bad player.

He appeared once for England in 2012 in midfield and surprise surprise they lost 4-2 and the second time he was left on bench but over 4/5 years that's apparently considered good to you then?

Sorry, I'm not following you there mate...maybe I'm thick.

Surely though Ossie doesn't warrant a shout as 'WORST' player to play in an Everton shirt. Maybe he's not warranted as much playing time recently as he's gotten, but worst is very harsh.

We've had far, FAR worse players...

No, actually. As I opined earlier, Barrett was a good defender.
