Yeah, not a United player at all... but for that sort of money was suicidal... Still, I'm glad he did though.

I keep asking this question but no seems able to answer.

What exactly is a "United player"?

Tom Cleverly?

Johnny Evans?

Eric Djemba Djemba?

Ralph flippin' Milne?

Are they typical examples?

Nah mate, pace, mobility, and vision would be the norm I would say.
He wa a great play for us, did a lot of great things and I am very greatful we had him, but he doesn't have the vision to open up play from deep, the speed (regular speed, he's actually lighning quick the two or three times a season he actually feels like sprinting) to get past players, the dribbling skills to join an attack, the shot to be a danger.
What he was good at for us was turning chaos into calm, if in doubt when in defence and you want to clear, take a shot at him from 5 yards away, he'll bring it down, drop it like a stone and pass it nicely into someones path to build with.
United's defenders are generally pretty calm and this trait along with his amazing velcro chest are not really something that works for them, they don't need to worry about panicking or not being strong enough physically to cope with a big team.

Yer story going around that players were going to Ferguson to complain

If you had a boss that you thought was not doing his job prop would you go above him to bring it up?

Confirms my belief that he went in to stamp his own authority and they didn't like it.

I still think if give time, he'd turn it around. But he had no clout to come in and reform or boss anyone about.

Turn around the mess he created in the first place

Everything that has happened has been his own doing. Everything was in place for him when he took the job, the staff knew the players, and knew how they operated, yet he got rid of the lot and took his own cronies with him, which I am glad he did.

No sympathy for the man what so ever.

Yep Paddy Barclay the mad journo who blames everyone but Moyes says it was a one year rolling contract NOT 6 years carved in stone as reported.
Probably get 2 to 4 m pay off and use of the car for 6 weeks.
