Ferguson hardly a reliable source. Both out to make moneyIn his book Ferguson states he started thinking about it in December and only decided in February.
But hey, I guess the Daily Mail is a more reliable source.
Seems like Football Fans in Goodison Park give more respect than forum fans

He still doesn't get it. When asked about his approach for Fellaini and Baines he pretty much said 'United players move to Everton all the time and I don't get upset about it, so what's the big deal?' He then went on that we finished above Liverpool twice under his stewardship, as if to say that this year has been a lesser achievement because we're below them. Totally failing to recognise their vast improvement and that if we finished above them this year we'd probably be champions.
Utter nightmare if we give him grief and they stuff us. Him, Round, and Neville fist pumping on the touchline towards our fans would bring meltdown
My heart tells me we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 5-0 with a similar 'footballing lesson', my head tells me it could be a nervy draw. Fortunately, my head knows jack s**t, all heart me.I'm sure that Roberto will be telling the players to let our football do the talking. I don't expect that they have any beef with Moyes themselves and they're probably actually glad that Martinez took over. We don't want the atmosphere to be a distraction for the players.
Davey has acted like a clown but it's outweighed by the job that he did for us. It would still be nice if we could give his new side a 'footballing lesson' though.

Nah mate, got the praise and credit he deserved for what he did during his time here... Now he's getting the disrespect and abuse he deserves for what he did during his time away from here..
Applauded him when he left, thought he deserved it. Opinions change so I hope he now gets what he deserves
