I genuinely reckon we can win the league next year.

Howard is playing the best he's ever played.

Baines, Stones, Jagielka and Coleman is, for me, easily the best back line in the permiership. Back up from Distin, Oviedo, Garbutt, Alcaraz and Hibbert :) mean we should be able to cope with injuries.

Mirallas, Barry, McCarthy, Gibson, Barkely, Pienaar and cGeady should ensure a well protected defence with plenty of goals at the other end. Plenty of options available as well.

Uo front, now a lot of this relies on keeping Lukaku, but if not we can get Remy, Rhodes (big fan!), Bony to replace him Traore and Kone will play a bigger part next year too. And given Naismith's recent trajectory he could be a balloon door winner in the not too distant future.

If you take the first 3 fixtures out of the equation (it is sponsored by RAWK don't forget) then we'd be even closer to the top, add in out horrendous luck with injuries and it all starts to look very rosy indeed.

I admire your optimism....

...but no.
This

Lets not get to kopite levels where every june we start saying this. Its been a truly wonderful season. I've not had this much fun watching Everton since the 80's. Even if we only manage 5th and miss out, its still been some ride.

But I won't let my imagination run wild saying stuff like this. Settle down mate. Grab a pint, watch motd and enjoy us sitting in 4th this evening. Don't do it to yourself

If you guys qualify for the CL ahead of us, as strong a team Everton might be now, the team would still need to be upgraded. Not just to qualify for the CL proper with the playoffs but to cope with CL and PL football at the same time. Otherwise it could easily cost you next year's place in the top 4, let alone winning the title. There's a lot of burden that lies with finishing top 4 you know.

Even if Lukaku, Barry, Delo were all tied down for permanent deals, the team would still need to be upgraded to cope with CL in addition to PL, and I'm not just saying that. Martinez would have to get some excellent loan deals done again this summer just like last summer, but I wouldn't put it past him anyway.

Don't think anyone would disagree with you!
