The fact is that we were 90 seconds away this afternoon from being virtually nailed on for a EL spot. Unfortunately Spurs then got the winner. Such is football. It's pointless to speculate when things are as tight as they now remain. But we can still afford to lose one more and draw one more than Spurs and still get 5th or 6th.

I suppose Spurs could say the same about our game V Cardiff last week. We've had late goals for and against us this season.

Good news about the barcodes is Remy is still out, so's Debuchy at right back. Cisse is bang out of form and that de Jong lad they bought in January isn't exactly Messi. We should win this comfortably on paper but this being Everton we'll probably draw it

I'm surprised by the lack of confidence for the Newcastle game. Without cabaye and remy they'd be getting relegated this season.

Pardew is suspended and won't be managing right? Could we petition to have him back, I don't want to see a competent NUFC team out there.

To be fair I thought Spurs looked far more convincing today than we did yesterday, both of us have difficult games coming up and Utd aren't out of it yet despite what some people think.

I think its going right down to the wire for 5/6/7 this season.

Take it you only turned on in the second half mate, first half spurs were absolutely dire, just suicidal defending let them get back in that today

Wouldn't it be fantastic if once, just the once,we grasped the nettle, went on a fantastic run from now to the end of the season, whilst Arsenal et al spectacularly capitulate, you know the kind of scenario that always seems to fall for the RS,once, just once, imagine it!"CHAMPIONS LEAGUE,WE'RE HAVING A LAUGH"!!!Won't happen will it?,never bloody does for us!!

I agree mate.
We need to grasp the nettle,
be in fine fettle,
display our mettle
and [insert opposition team] unsettle.

Actually no, I thought after Spurs were gifted their first they always looked the more likely to score. Southamptons defending was worse than Spurs over the whole course of the game and they looked like they could conceded any time they were under pressure.

How did you think we looked yesterday?

Our away form (results wise) is not the best and midweek v Newcastle is always going to be difficult.
Still, we cannot be tentative, we need to go looking for a result at this point in the season.
I reckon we should approach this as if it is an FA Cup (replay) game. Go for it.

he still picks the team and im sure there will be some relay to him in a room somewhere so he can enforce his tactical decisions.

We looked poor mate imo, but we have done the last 4-5 games as goodison and still got the wins which in the end is what counts, spurs are just undermined by Sherwoods tactics and they won't finish top 5 imo
