I should add to this, that in realistic terms, I think we should just go for Podolski and Milner. Would love to be proved wrong, but I reckon we could get the pair for £20 million, lets hope the warchest is at least that much.

I'd take Milner, he's got a solid cross on him and defensively he's spot on. Like a young Pienaar but with more quality in the final third.

Think he's wasted on the flanks. Strong lad, good in the tackle, engine similar to McCarthy, but a bit more creative/attack minded. I'd use him in one of the deep lying centre mid roles as the box to box player.

We'd pick Milner up for 4-5 million in the summer like, can't be in Pellegrini's long term plans, would be a very good for us in a midfield three. Tadic, or a similar playmaker, and Lukaku in would be a fine summer indeed. Not going to hold my breath though

Hes far from top of my list, but I think signing Lescott on a free transfer is a no brainer. Good enough to play against Barcelona, City fans thinking he is worth an extra year, talk about him going to United. He had a very good understanding with Jagielka as well, and he is streets ahead of Stones at this moment in time.
Milner would be ACE, I'd cream my kecks if we signed him, but I can't see him leaving City at all.

Did you miss the game mate? Seriously though on a free you're right, I'd take him back, but I don't think he's good enough to play against Europe's elite. Definitely good enough for a team pushing the top 4 though.

Nah I didn't watch the game. But he can't have done too bad if the game finished 2-1 away at Barcelona whist playing with 10 men for the last 10 minutes. I think he would still do a good job for us , and that he would be well worth getting in on a free. Not entirely sure he would come back to us though, I think he will have big money offers from Turkey.
