Why though? Because people like you have decided that being against uncontrolled unlimited immigration is xenophobic?

I wish people would just stand up and say 'who cares?' What the so called 'liberal' (anything but) far left wing nutjobs say. Their whole 'argument' is based in smearing the other side with names so who's arsed. If there was an argument to say that uncontrolled unfiltered immigration from poorer and third world countries around the world benefited our society in some way then maybe people would listen. But there isn't because of course it doesn't. In regards to the eu, they have to cross several rich countries to come here. What drives that? I know if I was from a Romanian slum and some mug of a country would give me free healthcare, free housing and child benefits I'd be straight on whatever mode of transport I could find. Who can blame them them?

Jesus Christ. This is why nothing will ever be done and nothing will ever be properly spoken about until it's too late. I did think 50 years it will kick off but I reckon it'll be a lot sooner than that.
 
I don't think either Clegg or Farage would do any better a job of running the country than me after 8 pints.

While I don't think UKIP are as bad as EDL/BNP, I still don't like them and won't be voting for them.

Clegg has killed the Lib Dems by destroying any credibility they had in this co-alition, and UKIP aren't big enough to pose a serious threat to Labour or the Tory party.

I think Labour realised 2010 was an election to lose, declined the terms of a Lib-Lab co-alition and will get back in next year as a result of people being cheesed off with the current government, cuts, bedroom tax etc.

Not that I think Labour are actually any better, but that's another argument.

Oh yes, I meant to ask, why does immigration pollute any political argument on here?

To your last question, because it is the biggest issue we have as a society these days. It's the one everyone's talking about it. It's got completely out of control and people feel they are losing their country. Then you have other side just screaming racist or something.

Perhaps on your area, but up here, immigration isn't the big thing.

Where you are it may be, but here it's bedroom tax and the fact food banks are everywhere that seems to be on all the topical phone-ins.

I'm not saying it isn't an issue, but it's not the biggest issue round these parts.

Mostly being skint is.

No one's bothered about immigration in London either. Probably because so many Londoners are migrants like, and the city is doing pretty well out of it.

The areas of London where immigration from poor countries is high are some of he worst areas in England. Just because London as a whole is doing well, like in the city, Chelsea and because it's where the government is based doesn't mean for one second it's because of immigration. To suggest so is just stupid.

I'm sure if you put "labour racists" in to Google you will have less results. You only ever see UKIP in the papers for something that could be argued is racist.

UKIP don't need smearing. At least not whilst they continue to shoot themselves in the foot. I think also you may be getting overly defensive of them to the point where you are ignoring the fact they are plagued by gaffs from a number of members. They're exhibiting xenophobic behaviour, but it has to be the left wing nutjobs smearing poor old UKIP.
The immigration conversation should be had, but can we please get past the sniping over it?

Can you not see the huge hole in your logic?

If I put "Labour pedophiles" into google now, I'd get a huge amount of hits (although I wouldn't of course as I'd be flagged up as much as @Bungle ). Does this mean Labour represents pedophilia? No, of course it doesn't.

You seriously don't believe the major parties are calling a few favours in with various journalists to snuff out any threat from UKIP, however small? Naive in the extreme.
 
I don't know how anybody can call UKIP a political party, it seems to be just a collection of members with varying degrees of questionable beliefs. If they ever get elected, British government will be like a car crash.
